Advice Comfort Value Recovery
I had a Labrum repair (SLAP) near 4 weeks ago.During the day the need to wear the waist strap is a bit redundant. Regardless I wore the waist strap for the first 10 days as found it was good additional support. The strap over the shoulder is great. Easily adjustable to help you get it over your head. As I am finishing using this sling (4 weeks) the Velcro has worn down a bit but it is still a good product. At first I thought the waist strap goes right around the person but discovered the two Velcro ends attach to the two anchor points. This is great to loosen up at night and makes a big difference for sleeping. The product is breathable and is good support. It does not keep your arm warm which is good when sleeping.Ensure you plan ahead for your shoulder operation. Elastic laces for getting a pair of walking shoes on and off.Baggy T-shirts- Don't wear tight upper clothing. Support handle to get in and out of bath / shower. Ensure you've got something to wash your armpits for the first 2 weeks (just saying it gets smelly). Make sure you've a zip on your jeans (no buttons) as you'll discover using 1 hand is difficult.Extra pillows so you can sit up right and rest arm on. A good few TV series to watch. All in all the sling I got from the hospital was rubbish. Defiantly worth the money

Excellent 9.9/10 sling way more comfortable, adjustable than the one provided by the NHS
After having labrum repair surgery to my shoulder I was given a standard sling by the NHS, where the velcro attachments were rubbish and it didn't even last 2 weeks (My arm has to be in a sling for a minimum of 6 weeks) Also my kneck was very sore from the lack of padding and rubbing of the provided sling however this sling comes with a cushion type 'rest' that is adjustable and comfortable.I purchased this sling and it is very well made and looks much better when going out (Better than a blue velvety sling anyway!). It offers excellent support to my shoulder, breathable and lightweight and I will most likely be purchasing another one when I have my other shoulder operated on!I recommend anyone who is going to be wearing a sling for a while to buy one as this is a very good investment and you'll be much comfier than the slings provided.

Good sling
I bought this sling following rotator cuff surgery, so need to wear a sling 24/7 for 6 weeks. After a week or so the NHS sling was getting a bit 'gruffty' so I needed an alternative. There is much to like about this sling. It is well made and feels durable. It is generally comfortable to wear and slightly cooler than my NHS sling due to the mesh design. So why only 4 stars? There is a cuff around the shoulder strap which provides a degree of padding. However the cuff is not quite wide enough for the shoulder strap to lie flat inside it, so the shoulder strap tends to 'ruckle' up a bit inside it, slightly increasing the pressure on your shoulder that bears the weight of your arm. In addition, the cuff is a little short, if it was longer it would spread that pressure more effectively. So, the cuff could do with either being wider, or longer. Having said that, am I happy with my purchase - yes very much so. Would I buy it again - yes I would. Do I recommend it - yes I do.

Not fit for purpose as too difficult to get on
Generally, when you're wearing a sling such as this which includes holding your arm tightly to your chest, it is because you should avoid moving the arm too much. This sling can do that once you have managed to get it on, but unfortunately it is really tricky to get on without wriggling around a lot.As other reviews have mentioned, the straps are too long, particularly the over shoulder strap on the opposite uninjured shoulder. What this means is you have to somehow get the strap right over the top of the shoulder without moving your injured shoulder too much, an almost impossible task. There are tricks you can do to try work around this such as not undoing the strap but that means contorting your body to try to fit through the loop instead and still moving your injured shoulder. On top of that, again as other reviews have mentioned, the velcro part of strap overlaps the edges unless you are ultra, ultra precise, which you can't be because of how long it is you're trying to guess where you're pushing it into place on your back. That means the soft padding sliding section always catches on the velcro part as you try to shift it into place, which means more tugging and pulling and movement that you should be avoiding.Once it is on it is comfortable but often you'll just be putting it on too low because it is too tricky to get it on correctly. It isn't fit for purpose in my opinion and I went back to wearing my old NHS given sling and twisting the straps around to make the velcro last another few weeks.

OK for short term injury
After a bike accident that's put me out of action for 12 weeks minimum (clavicle broken in 4 places, shattered wrist and a few broken ribs to boot.) I wanted a wanted a better sling than the standard hospital. I tried this 'breathable version for a few day" isn't comfortable. Would maybe be good as a spare for going to gym. But if its for full time wear the same company (Neo -G) do a comfort sponge version https://amzn.eu/d/dkEicNc .And the difference is lightyears, snugger fit, better neck support, much better material.I'm probably gonna keep both, but if your only buying one buy the Comfort Sponge Model.Happy Healing 👍https://amzn.eu/d/dkEicNc
