Works as advertised
After the stock traction lok failed in my ‘09 F350, I decided to try the Eaton tru trak since it has no clutch plates to wear out. Installation was straight forward after purchasing a yukon gear shim kit and fabricating a case stretcher. It works perfectly so far. I’ll update after pulling our 17k 5th wheel

Great traction loaded or empty.
Replaced the factory trac-lok in my 1995 Ford 10.25” full floating axle with this eaton unit. Install was simple enough following the diff carrier install instructions in the Ford service manual. Make sure you have a good variety of shims to achieve proper backlash and gear mesh.

Excellent Traction.
Was tired of getting stuck at edge of my driveway whenever it sprinkled snow. My pretend 4x4 f350 would just spin a single rear tire while the other tire just sat there. After having a mechanic install this and a master bearing kit, my traction went thru the roof! I don't even need to put it in 4 wheel anymore. Both rear tires bite at the same time now. I don't even get stuck in the grass in my back yard! Now my truck is a real 3x3. Not a fake 4x4 which was actually a 1x1. One wheel turning in the back...then one wheel turning in the front when put into 4 wheel drive.Fantastic product!!!!

Limits the slips smoothly
I Installed in my ‘99 F250 2WD diesel. It had the factory open differential in it and was hard to drive, especially in the rain. I just did this as a carrier swap, so I reused my ring gear. The tone ring for your vehicle speed sensor will fit on this without any problem. I also purchased an overhaul kit because I would certainly need shims. Installation was pretty straight forward. These particular Ford diff’s do not have a carrier break so I didn’t have to worry about matching my carrier to a specific gear ratio… I measured the backlash prior to disassembly and it set up pretty easy, I set my backlash about .002 less than where it was (based that on my wear pattern). I did not have to touch my pinion depth setting. Filled my fluid and did a test drive.I have changed many a ring and pinion and carriers over the years. This Eaton true track is bad ass. It is silky smooth and you don’t feel it hunting for which wheel has the most traction like some limited slip / posi units do. It sends you straight ahead nice and smooth; none of that booty shake back and forth stuff the clutched type limited slips do.I have put about 3k miles on it so far and would recommend it. I will update this review if it does not pass my endurance test. The only negative thing I noticed about this is that is made in China. Shame on you Eaton.

Despicable packaging
These units aren't cheap or light, so I would expect pretty good packaging to protect it. The first one I ordered got lost in transit so I got another one coming. When it finally arrived, 3 weeks after my original ETA I found out why. It came it a tattered box that was more tape then cardboard with no packing insulation. These are great LSD's and I'm happy to have received it, even though it's full of cardboard scraps and dirt, but this is unacceptable behavior from such a respectable brand.
