Carbon Fiber Clean Rod w/Rotating, Handle (5mm) - 12 L

I meticulously maintain my handguns. Following every range trip, I throughly clean my guns and oil them as required. With respect to the barrels, this typically takes the most work and requires the best tools. This Allen carbon fiber cleaning rod is extremely high quality and very sturdy. I had another vendor's carbon fiber rob which lasted less than 60 days with the tip breaking off the rod and rendering it useless; a total waste of money (made in China!). This Allen rod costs nearly the same but is in a different category. If you care about the proper maintenance of your firearms, you can't go wrong with the purchase of the Allen CF product.

Just received the product today and immediately went and cleaned my glock and Walther barrels. The rod is the perfect weight and length and did exactly what it's designed to do. I noticed immediately that it has a nice, tight tolerance where the rod doesn't just spin freely like my Dewey rods do which is EXACTLY what I wanted for my smaller barrels. This things great, just get it already!

The rod may (may, or may not be) made of carbon fiber but the top is a very cheap brass. During the second cleaning using this rod, the brass tip broke off while attached to a simple brass jag and cotton patch. Subpar beyond subpar. I should have known better than to buy an import brand from Amazon.

I own several Dewey and some old unbranded rifle length cleaning rods, but wanted a shorter one for pistols. Bought this one on a whim instead of the Dewey, and am glad I did. I very much like the heavy handle on this, and am very pleased with the rod. Cleaned several pistols as soon as I unpacked this rod and like it very much. Worth buying!

I bought this carbon fiber rod to clean my pistols because the coating had worn off on my old steel rod. The handle feels very good; I like that there's a bit of heft to it. Knocked off one star because out of the box there's a slight hitch I can feel when I rotate the rod. Was surprised by that, given the price. I figure the bearings will smooth out with a bit of use--and it seems like they are starting to--but I expected it to feel perfectly smooth when new. That said, it's not a big problem because the rod does rotate as I push a patch through the bore.

I have another brand of 1-piece cleaning rods which I like; this one was the first I have purchased from Breakthrough Clean Technologies. It arrived today...and I am impressed! It actually "feels" better given its mass in the handle. Well done, guys!

There is a step where the carbon rod and the brass meet. I can feel the step hitting when pushing and pulling back and forth. It should be a smooth transition so there is no damage to the barrel or rod. I expected better for the price. Everything else seems well-built.

This is the best product I have found in its classIt is over engineered and works great
