Q: i live in top apartment. Would this matting help reduce any noise

any insulation would help reduce noise...although I've not used it for this purpose... if dropping heavy weights onto the mats of jumping around exercising would definitely reduce noise for neighbour beneath... Thick pile carpet piece probably more effective, then these mats on top...!! hope that helps Glen

You’d probably be better with a thinner tile as the extra expense of these wouldn’t be worth it.

Yes the are soft foam to lie on but firm enough that they only lightly dent with weights.
