These were for my fourteen year old great grandson who is a very keen Drummer, who may I add, is a very fine youngster who deserves the occasional gift for no particular reason. He was delighted with them and told me he noticed quite a big difference when he first used them and that is praise indeed. Money well spent.

Doesn't feel like the grip paint is as effective on this last pair. Even once warm mid gig they still feel smooth as if just painted black.Still great sticks but quality seems a little off sadly. Maybe just a dud pair?

My wooden sticks kept flying out of my hands. These don't. Also I was using 5B which are slightly thicker but these feel better and are actually heavier. I highly recommend them.

Great grip, great sticks

A few days ago I gave these sticks a very critical review because I thought they were substandard. After communication with the very nice folks at D'addario I learned that in fact the sticks were fine but what looked like a crack was a remnants of packaging that had woven into the coating. A careful sponge down with a little water showed this to be the case :-)So I also said that I did like the sicks to play with and I want to reiterate that here. They are light and fast and really allow my grip to relax whilst still staying in my hands!All in all I've done a u-turn from 1 to 5 stars. Sorry for anyone who took notice of my original review in the 36hrs it was up. Luckily I am not an influencer so likely noone saw it anyways ;-). I'll buy some more of these definitely.

The stick is so perfect and soft on my hands. Makes playing very easy and smooth. Best stick to spend your money on, worth it.

The grip doesn't get in the way of my playing, so I don't necessarily dislike it. I'm sure there are people who need that extra grip so that's great there's a mainstream option readily available. I personally just like the feel of the natural wood under my hands.

The media could not be loaded. I have been buying these for years for my son, from age 10-16. He plays very hard and often. Let's say while playing an important gig (with Sean Yseult from White Zombie), he was using another pair of sticks that broke. Thankfully he had a masterful handoff of a Promark and he's never gone back since! Seriously though, these sticks are incredible. They don't slip, and even though the black wears off midway to the tip (just proof you're actually using them), the grips stay true and don't peel or wear off. The wood will wear, but he's played his sticks to whittled nubs. They DO break after time, but always when old and worn, not prematurely. Something we can say about all the Promark sticks he uses. These are his favorite though. If you watch the video you can see the black at the grip and the weathered mid to end. But you can also see how they hold up to tough playing for 5+ minutes, even in this state. Other sticks would have given up for sure. Highly recommend these sticks. I buy them both through Amazon and at music stores when I see them.
