Works well with my Honda 150hp outboard
The OEM tachometer on my 2005 Crestliner 1850 stopped working. This fit the opening perfectly. I had to cut the OEM wires and crimp on connectors. That meant I had to figure out which wires were for what function. But I was able to find a wiring diagram for my boat on the internet. My owners manual didn't include a wiring diagram.The instructions for how to set the tachometer included my Honda 150hp outboard motor, but they were wrong. The OEM tachometer is also a 7000 RPM from Faria. It was set to #1. Using the setting in the installation instructions, the tachometer would only go to 1500 RPM when I had the throttle full. When I set the tach to #1 (as the old tach was set), it went to about 5000 RPM as I was expecting.So, if you're replacing a OEM tachometer, you might want to copy the old settings.Other than that, the Tach is very easy to read. The numbers are clear. It looks nice in my dash.

Great Customer Support
My only issue was trying to figure out the size of this gauge as described by Amazon. The diameter of the hole in your dash should be 3 3/8” wide. I wasn’t sure about where the switch should be set for my outboard, even though the directions were very well written. So I called the number they provided, and got my answer in seconds. Also very easy to wire up.

Very poorly packaged by Amazon
Do not buy from Amazon!I have purchased two of these. Nice units but both were sent in an envelop each time and both arrived crushed. Amazon will now not send another replacement, apparently preferring to forgo business rather than package an item so it arrives undamaged. I'll purchase elsewhere.Update - It was handed to UPS 2 weeks ago yesterday. No idea when I'll see a refund. Great tach but do not even think about buying it from Amazon.

Had to contact Faria
Shipping was fine. Instructions were good but still vague. I had to contact Faria to find out I wired it up backwards. Funny. I don't feel dyslexic. Big thank you to Faria for providing excellent customer service. So far this tach seems to be a good product. At least it didn't fry when I hooked it up wrong!

Nice tach
I bought this for my 59”mercury 60, it has a very close readout of the rpm, a tach is needed to dial in your prop and to make sure your not over reving the motor, iv had it a few years now with no issues.
