The Cuescreens instruction videos for removing the the CUE module from the car(XTS) and swapping out the old touch screen with the new Cuescreen were very clear and easy to follow. There was no video about re-installing the Cue module back into the car as the assumption is that you could probably just refer to the uninstall video as a reference. I found it helpful to view several "other" YouTube videos on this subject that showed other DIY experiences in performing these tasks including the re-installation of the CUE module and seeing what other DIY'ers ran into and what tips they offered. Removing interior panels and disconnecting switches and wires isn't hard but can be tricky in terms of how you line up clips or even pull the panel/switch out. The new CUE touch screen worked right from the start and is much better than the original screen on my XTS that had already been replaced by GM under warranty once before. As far as the time to take the CUE module out(4 hours), swap the screen(3 hours), and re-install the module( 3 hours), I invested about 10 hours as I purposely took my time and watched the videos as I did each step in the car or on my workbench. The Cuescreen videos were very clear on where delicate actions needed to be taken to avoid any costly damages to the module or screen. Cuescreens has a Trouble Shooting video which you should watch before starting as it reinforces what areas to be aware of that might cause a new screen issue. As far as tools, having the right sized Phillips head screw drivers is important as the screws are small & could easily be damaged by using a too large screwdriver. Having a magnetic pickup tool is useful in some of the spaces to get the screw/bolt out after you've loosened it all the way. Using an interior panel removal tool is also a good idea to avoid damages to panels or parts when trying to remove them.

To my ladies!! I'm here to say you can do it. Give yourself grace and follow the instructions video step by step and mission accomplished. The only thing I can say I asked for help was to borrow an extension piece for the 7mm socket lol. I'm so proud of myself my kids called me Handy Mandy after lol... thank you for helping me conquer this task 10/10 recommending

This thing saved me about $650. A local shop wanted $800 to replace and install a new head unit and they made the mistake of actually showing me the box they would be using. It was this exact one. So, I went home and ordered it myself. The directions were spot on (YT video) and took about an hour. GM does not make this easy to do but I got it done with no violence or extra parts left over.

YouTube instructions were spot on. This was my first time but wasn’t trying to spend $850+ for a shop to do. Took me 2hrs and 45mins. If had to do again could do it in 1.5 hours. I recommend anyone to do it yourself just take your time. New screen works like new no issues.

This actually worked. Had lower expectations but thought it was with the few hundred dollars to try vs the dealer wanting $2000. My handy husband attempted to do it himself but lost his mind and paid a mechanic to do it. Still came out way ahead of dealer price and 6months later and works like a charm2017 Cadillac Escalade

Follow the instructions exactly and this will fix the broken touch screen. No reason to need to buy a whole new electronics dash when you can just replace the screen. Worked as expected. We did have to take it out and tweak it three times before everything clicked perfectly but absolutely recommend if you’re dealing with the dreaded dried up gel that disabled touchscreen. Wish we would have done it sooner!
