The media could not be loaded. May 7, 2025 Update. - I haven’t returned it. The app seems to be working now and no issues with the updates as well. I really do love the sound of this speaker. Now that I’ve had it a few weeks. Using it a lot. I honestly just love the sound quality. I mainly use it in a screened in porch, and it’s been perfect. Changing my 4 stars to 5. I’m happy with it.I’m really torn. Part of me loves this speaker (especially outside on my screened porch) and part of me is VERY aggravated by this speaker and its app. I might just return it, but I’ll use it a few more days before making up my mind.I’ve had to reset the app so many times because it doesn’t stay connected to the speaker, when it’s not connected to the app, the app wants to you connect it to Bluetooth even though it already is. Also, it keeps saying there is an update, yet every time I go through the update process it will just say it needs the same update. Frustrating!Because of its size, I thought it would be louder than it is. Sound quality is more important to me than loudness, but again, for its size and drivers, I really did expect it to get louder, but the sound quality is good.A few plus’s is the AI light feature is cool. It only has two light strips, but they do some pretty cool things. The battery seems to be pretty good too.So, this is why I’m so torn on if I’ll keep it or not. I’ve had it about a week now, and for the most part it’s a pretty decent speaker when the app works. I’d wait for a sale though.Hummmmmm…..

2 things hold this back from being a 5 star speaker.A) The treble is weak out of the box. You can turn it up in the LG ThinQ app and then it's great, but it just sounds rather muffled if you don't.B) The bass is weak in low volumes. Crank it up past 50% and you'll FEEL powerful deep tones vibrating through your body, but below that it lacks depth.These are both things they could address with a firmware update, so I hope they do.Other than my gripes seen above, this speaker sounds and works great, but also has a few things it does especially well:A) INSANELY LOUD. And sounds great while doing it. Most speakers like this limit the bass as you crank them up louder to prevent distortion. This one doesn't really do that (just a tiny bit as you approach 100%), and does not need to. It's unreal how much bass it puts out when turned up all of the way, while still sounding clean and clear. This makes it an top notch choice for a party speaker, even for larger spaces like a backyard.B) User removeable battery. You could buy extra batteries and get some seriously long playtime. Better yet, one day the battery will go bad, despite the rest of the speaker working fine. This means it can be easily replaced when that day comes, granting the speaker several more years of use, and greatly reducing e-waste.All in all, this is a solid choice at the price point, and I would recommend it over competitors' similar offerings.

I chose this portable speaker honestly because it caught my attention that this was a collab or design specifically by will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. Will.i.am is a multi-platinum artist, a tech pioneer, and an experiential architect for LG.LG is a very well know, loved, and trusted brand. That is no doubt. It is a collab that makes sense, seems like it would be a wonderfully designed sound system. It is the xboom Stage 301, specifically targeted at performers for certain reasons. Of course, it is for anyone and everyone. I am no performer, but I love a good party speaker for my home and backyard.The speaker can be set down upright or tilted back at an angle. This is how you see a lot of stage speakers sitting, tilted at an angle. You can even mount this onto a speaker tripod. The speaker has great battery life, supposed to last up to 12 hours on one charge. It is a little less if used at full volume for hours consistently. The speaker has a 6.5" woofer and dual 2.5" midrange drivers. I am no expert when it comes to sound systems and speakers, but all of that sounds great. I appreciate that the speaker is water resistant. (Not waterproof). But that makes it perfect for a backyard pool party or party at the pool. Rain or shine. Literally. There's a plug for a mic or a guitar near where the charging port is at. That is pretty neat because you could hook up a mc and do karaoke! Speaking of karaoke, there's a corresponding app that goes with the speaker. You can utilize the karaoke features in the app as well as tweaking and adjusting the sound of the speaker. This is on top of the knobs that are on the speaker itself. The LED light feature is very nice and cool. You can change up the light to different lighting modes that go with the music. The handle makes it easy to carry around. The nice is very crisp and clean. It gets LOUD. I showed this to a friend that knows more about the technicalities of the speaker and he was very impressed. He messed with it and played different songs to test it out. He was like, "where did you get this and how much was it?" I told him and he got the product link from me. He was impressed and really liked it. He says that this is a great speaker indeed. It is more than enough for me. It is perfect for my home and backyard and our little family parties. 10/10 recommend
