the best dry film lubricant I have tried
I was confused by all the different non-oil lubricating sprays available, so I purchased a variety and tested them out to compare them against one another. I found that they all have different properties and are best suited for different applications. My testing was simple. I sprayed all the lubricants for an equal amount of time over an equal area of aluminum foil. I then monitored them all over a period of a week indoors at an ambient temperature of around 20C. Then I applied 100 grams of force to each test area and subjectively assessed the amount of reduced friction. (see photos)DuPont Silicone Surface Safe Lubricant. This contains silicone, Teflon, and ceramic boron. It remained fully liquid, thin, and runny even after a week. This seems ideal in situation where you have parts that require a liquid lubricant such as bearings, etc. Best to use this in situations where you would usually use oil, but when you cannot use oil-based products.DuPont Chain-Saver Dry Lubricant. This is a molybdenum and Teflon wax-based lubricant. This remained fully liquid, very thick and waxy after a week. This is formulated for bike chains, and I can see why. Ideal for mechanical parts that must engage and disengage repetitively. Another possible use might be for zippers or similar fasteners.DuPont Multi-Use High-Performance Lubricant. This contains Teflon and silicone. This is essentially a compromise between all the other lubricant sprays. It stays liquid and wet after a week, but is not a lubricating as the others, not as non-stick as the others, and not as friction-reducing as the others. If you can only have one bottle of non-oil lubricant spray, this is a good choice, but it is not the best at any one thing. Basically, like the WD-40 of silicone sprays.Super Lube 91110 Silicone Spray. After a week, leaves a very thin, nearly dry surface, incredibly slippery with the best friction-reducing properties of all the sprays I tried. Wonderful! Also, this is H1 food grade safe (ok for use in equipment used in contact with food). If you need to reduce friction on long rail and track mechanisms with minimal tackiness that might attract dust, this seems ideal!Super Lube 11016 Dri-Film Lubricant. After a week, leaves a dry surface, rather slippery in reducing friction and rather non-stick. This is also H1 food grade safe (ok for use in equipment used in contact with food). If you must have a fully dry film lubricant, this is my favorite!DuPont Non-Stick Dry-Film Lubricant. After a week, leaves a dry opaque white film. Not really slippery or lubricating against friction, but entirely non-stick. Essentially like Teflon PTFE in a can. In situations where you want a non-stick coating like PTFE, but using Teflon tape, etc. is not an option, this seems like an excellent choice.

Sprays on clean and clear, no powdered residue - Great for Vertical applications
Purchased this product to use as part of our yearly maintenance for our accordion hurricane shutters. It is necessary to lubricate the tracks to keep them moving fluidly as well as lubricating the thumbscrews to ensure the locking pins will close easily. Part of the maintenance requires us to clean the shutters with soap and water both while opened and closed. If not for the lubricating action of this spray that would become difficult to do so. Products such as WD-40 (which is a great product just not the correct one to use on hurricane shutters) are oily and will promote a build up of dirt, exactly the opposite of what you want. Also prior to purchasing this product I read a review on Amazon for Super Lube 31110 Aerosols Multi-Purpose, 11 oz (by Consumer Doc which was an excellent, review, very helpful) which I had been considering. The Aerosol Dri-Film product he directed me to, which I ultimately purchased, was a better choice for use on my hurricane shutters, as there was virtually no vertical leakage due to viscosity tolerances and better performance specifications. Also it is more versatile with with respect to the range of applications and materials it may be used for and best of all it sprays on clean and clear, which is particularly important when using for vertical applications such as shutters. It is very difficult to find this product in local stores so I would encourage you to order it here on Amazon. Fast delivery with Prime shipping and a great price. Highly recommend.

Excellent for locks and "dry" film lubrication And non-toxic
Applies a tenacious, dry feeling lubrication without turning everything black like graphite does. And, since its "dry, it does not attract dust, grit, etc. This is why the "Big Boy" use it.I won't bore you with all the parameters; you can look them up; I did. Start by downloading the MSDS.It works as well, has the same tenacity and the same temperature range as petroleum based lubes. Or better. And it's non-toxic and breaks down when out in the environment. Most all of their products are rated H-1 (use food facilities) by the NSF and a few are rated H-3 (food contact). I use their 68 weight, H-3 oil formulation, on my cutting board and carbon steel knives in my home and on my boiler motor. Not cheap; but what is your life worth?

Quick dry feature works great, but the red tube...not so much.
In terms of the contents, it does what it want, quick dry works great for lubrication. But the little red extension tube is so small, that the aerosol pressure forces it out. So you have to hold the tube in place when operating the can. They should make a better tube system to prevent that from happening. Otherwise, great product!

Worked Great for my Schwinn AD3 9000 mile Chain Lubrication
Worked Great for my Schwinn AD3 9000 mile Chain Lubrication!I made it all on this chain that I cleaned and the super lube gave me a good coating on the chain with no drip and that was most important with my cleaned up bicycle. I didn’t want it oil dripping on the floor as I use it. And super lube was the solution to that. I’m really glad that I found this product because I own several of these bikes and it’s going to make lubrication of the chains much more efficient job and doesn’t allow the lubricant to spatter as I ride these exercise bicycles.
