i used to use their old 3-step set with the exfoliator, targeting treatment, and hydrator. i was weary about trying this but i bought it because my old set was was running out and they stopped selling that specific 3-step set. so i tried it and to my surprise, this was actually better for my skin!! it gets rid of pimples/ shrinkens them faster than the old 3-step set.

When I broke out, this Proactiv 3-step system really helped tone down all the blemishes and unhappiness right away. The first step is to exfoliate and cleanse your face, the second is the benzoyl peroxide, and the third is some salicylic acid face moisturizer. The first 2 days were fine. I noticed some flakiness but nothing too problematic (and nothing the moisturizer couldn't fix). Then on the third day, I wanted to use the system one more time to fully get rid of the breakout. That was where things went really bad.First, the exfoliater. I had to switch to a different cleanser because the exfoliating beads were too irritating on the sensitive skin. Second, the benzoyl peroxide is super thin so a whole bunch of it gushes out and you end up wasting a ton of it. Third, for as much as the moisturizer was helpful, the insane amount of damage I did was enough to go to something more heavy duty.The benzoyl peroxide is what did it. Randomly, it caused really bad burns on my neck that I am still trying to fix a week later. Nothing changed about the usage so I've become scared of using this 3-step system and instead using some other skincare formulas to help with the breakouts.I used Proactiv in the past and had a bad experience, and thought things would be different this time around. Sadly, I have started thinking of Proactiv as Pro-Burn everything after this experience.
