Highest quality portable shower
I finally had the chance to use the Kakadu portable camping shower for an entire week during a truck camping trip and I can't say enough about the quality and workmanship of it. I started with a full battery charge and a full 1lb propane bottle and could probably go another week without worry of running the battery down, or running out of propane. The description says that 5 gallons of water will last for a 10 minute shower and I found that to be pretty accurate. Turning it on is simple. Push the power button, hit start and the pump begins to flow while the propane ignites. Hot water comes almost instantly when you turn it on and you can adjust the water flow by either adding or removing the internal water restrictor at the shower head which is described in the manual. What I've found is that by removing the restrictor, the shower flow is much nicer, and the water can heat up about 40 degrees from the inlet temp. So what I did was turn the shower on, point the shower head into my water supply bucket to warm it up from about 55 degrees to 70 (which takes about 2 1/2 minutes.) Now that my supply water was 70 degrees, I started my shower which easily climbed to 110 degrees at the output and it was perfect! Lots of hot water and a good flow. With the water restrictor removed, I got about 7 minutes of nice hot shower with 5 gallons of water.Because of the size, the whole unit is easy to transport in a camper or truck and 1lb bottles of propane are readily available. Also included is a 12 volt charger with a lighter socket plug and long cable so you can charge the battery from the vehicle while you drive and since it's 12 volts, could also be charged with a solar panel set-up.Looking at the shower, you can see the quality and attention to detail in the design. This will last through many years of traveling and camping. I'll always keep it ready to use as an emergency shower as well. You never know when you'll lose power, and this shower will provide nice hot showers if the grid goes down. I definitely recommend this shower and give it a full 5 star review. The quality and workmanship are top notch. You will not be disappointed.

Water pump DOA
I guess it happens, but I was disappointed that once I got it all hooked up the water pump operated, but it pumped no water. I'm glad I tested it before I went camping and had time to order another one. The new one has not arrived, but I'm optimistic that it will be fine. Really shouldn't give it to stars, but you asked how my experience was.

Complete bust
Finally used the shower and it was a bust. The connectors of both the inlet and outlet leaked but the worst part was the temp of the water. No matter how I adjusted the gas it would go from lukewarm to scalding hot then to the temp of the water in the bucket. I read the owners manual, reconnected everything and still the same. After that I put it away and sending it back, plus the pressure of the shower was very very low. Don't know if it was just a bad unit but this brand is not for me.

Hot water on the go
This KAKADU portable heated shower system is one of the best ones out there. Easy to set up and delivers good water flow and warm water on the go. Perfect for the van life , trekking, camping, surfing. It is versatile and functional. Battery life is pretty good and build quality is great. Although more expert than other systems this is still a good value because o th warranty and good company customer service.

Goes Perfect with their shower tent
I am a big fan of this portable camping shower. It is probably the best one I have out of the 6 or 7 propane units I currently own.A few things to not, it doesn’t have the longest battery life but that is to be expected because it uses quite a bit of power. The key thing is convenience. Another thing is they also make a shower tent and it goes hand and hand with it making for the perfect outdoor shower experience if your goal is to be covered up of course. I own my land and most land I explore so the tent is unnecessary for me and my guests in almost all cases. It also uses smaller propane bottles 1lb propane bottles which are easier to travel with and make this a premier unit.Until We Meet Again-Off The Grid Ken

Well designed shower!
One of the drawbacks to camping or going on an off road adventure for amount of time is being able to take a shower. Sponge bathing is fine for a few days at most, then you really need a hot shower to get properly clean! This is the primary reason I ordered this incredibly designed unit. I just don't want the typical camping shower with cold water, I want a hot shower and this shower unit delivers it quickly. I also like that it is capable of using larger sizes of propane canisters/tanks by simply adding an adapter. However, the smaller 1 lb. canister delivers up to 4 hours of hot water for shorter trips, with the battery lasting around 2 hours. Then it does need recharging. I LOVE the options! Kakadu truly engineered this product so well that they back it up with a 3-year warranty. I believe this is truly one incredible product that anyone who buys it will enjoy.
