Great nostalgic radio
Wanted a radio which could go in the kitchen, bedroom or outdoor patio area for news and music and wanted something new that looked old. Being from Indiana, the Studebaker name caught my attention. The ability to switch from mains power to battery power is a plus during power outages or remote locations. The tuner finds stations that my other stereo cannot. This little radio can work well in any situation or room and looks great. Also liked to learn that this is designed by a privately owned US company nearby in Chicago. If you need a good nostalgic radio which can work anywhere you can't go wrong for the money.

Great little radio
Great little radio.Like to listen to A.M. talk radio in the morning. Good sound, reception. Its cute too!Only complaint is you cant turn on/ off , or adjust volume with one hand. The little knob on front is tiny. Radio is so lightweight you need to hold radio with other hand when turning knob so it doesnt fall. Im using while cooking. It would be nice if I could adjust button with one hand.Otherwise its great!

An okay little radio
I wanted a retro looking radio and this fits the bill. It’s cute - very small, approximately 7” wide, and 5” tall, not counting the handle. The antennae extends about 12”. I have been using it with the power cord rather than with batteries. The sound is transistor-quality, so if you’re looking for sound depth, this won’t satisfy. The volume on/off button is smooth and not always easy to turn because of its slickness. The radio dial pointer is a bit difficult to see unless you are in good light - I set it on my favorite station and leave it - it’s too hard for my tired old eyes to try to browse stations.I’m happy with it in the nook where it’s placed, but eventually will replace it with a radio with better quality sound. It’s a nice little radio for the low price.

Good value for the price
Well I wasn't sure about a review because the first radio we received did not work. It would not turn on. Contacted Amazon to return it for a replacement and received it in a few days this radio works fine. The speaker puts out great sound for The price. Controls are simple and easy to operate. My wife works in the laundry room at a motel and I Was concerned about reception. Not a problem, it receives all the stations clearly.

Garbage Radio
This radio did not last even four months. I love the look of it, and I was really hoping this would be my radio to fit my black and turquoise kitchen. As others have said, the volume and on/off button is smooth and hard to move sometimes. However, I was willing to past that as long as it worked. Now this morning, it will not pick up any radio stations anywhere. This was a complete waste of money. Unless you want it just for the look, I would buy a different one.

The perfect radio, it's so cute too!
I've bought several of these for our house many years ago, put batteries from the dollar store in them, and the kids and I use them daily inside and outside. I LOVE THEM! Two things you'll want to know: don't keep them in the bathroom, the shower humidity will break them. Whenever all the stations suddenly only get static, that just means it's time to change the batteries- do not throw it away like I did with my first one before I realized it!! I rarely have to change the batteries though.

Studebaker Portable AM/FM Radio, sensitive tuning, sound tinny, mono only
There are not many small radios around these days, so this one is ok for the price. The plus is a built in AC plug no exterior power brick and takes batteries for portability. The tiny speaker could be much better, its like the old walkie talkie speakers. Its got a pretty poserful amp, near 10 watts from what I can figure. I adapted mine for exterior desk speakers and it is not bad sounding once connected, has some bass kick that way to about 50 hz (you would have to solder in a way to connect them yourself, (no external jack or headphone out) but there is an input jack to connect a iPhone to it but the new phones have about the same sound quality these days. It looks cute and tunes in stations well, although its tricky to tune in due to no reduction gearing to desensitize the tuner knob.
