Visor is great! Saved me in a crash. Wish it had MIPS
TLDR; I've been using this helmet for a few years now and it's a good budget helmet. LED is not very useful, but I really love the visor! It recently saved me in a crash and I'll be buying another one.Features:VISORThis is by far my favorite feature, that I'll spend most of my time writing about. It seems to be mostly a feature in budget helmets, but I wish more helmet manufacturers would adopt this option. I personally love the visor/shield because it doesn't fog up as easily as glasses in colder weather or get affected by sweat on my face, yet still keeps the wind and debris out of my eyes. It comes with a tinted visor, but I also purchased an additional clear visor for night/evening riding. There is also a yellow visor option. It attaches pretty securely via magnets and because they are magnetic, it allows me to stack visors in case I want to bring more than one. This allows me an easy way to bring along the tinted as well as the clear visor when my rides start in daylight but end at night. When I take two visors, I only orient one down and the other visor up, so I still only have one visor in front of my eyes, but that's just my preference. However, the biggest reason I love the visor is after a recent crash that sent me flying to the pavement where THE VISOR MANAGED TO PROTECT MY EYES AND FACE FROM SIGNIFICANT INJURY. I still suffered some impact and abrasions, but that is miniscule compared to the damage I would have sustained if the visor were not in the way.The visors sometimes do scratch up (not just from crashes), but replacements are reasonably cheap and I have ordered several over the years. I've seen some fancier helmets with fancier visors, but as a result, the replacement visors were also pretty expensive.LED LightThe rear LED lights seems like a great idea, but on my helmet, it would pop out too easily. It is only held in by friction. If lighting is an important helmet feature, I would look at other helmets.ComfortThe helmet is well-vented and comfortable riding year-round in Southern California. If it gets chillier, I use a riding cap underneath, but climates here don't get as cold as other locales. The helmet contains a removable mesh liner with padding that is attached to the shell via velcro stickers. The mesh can be removed for cleaning, but be gentle when washing, as the materials eventually all fell apart on me. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a replacement, so ended up buying after-market velcro pads as a substitute. The velcro stickers also come off sometimes, but those can be replaced pretty easily. The helmet fit can be adjusted via a wheel in the back.Overall, aside from the visor, this is a pretty good basic helmet. A MIPS option would be nice, but I don't expect this feature in a helmet in this price range.

Best Bike Helmet I've Ever Owned!! Saved Me From Serious Injuries!!
This is without a doubt the best bike helmet I've ever owned! The helmet has different points of adjustment so that the helmet can be customized to your head so that it fits securely and offers the desired protection without being uncomfortable. The detachable magnetic goggles are a huge plus and easy to put on or take off as needed. Using the goggles is much easier and more comfortable than wearing sunglasses. The rear light is also a plus, anything that helps other drivers to see you is a great benefit. I highly recommend this bike helmet and would purchase it again. An update - I was recently in a pretty bad wreck on my bicycle, shattering my elbow. I flew over the handle bars and landed face down on the pavement. The bike helmet and visor saved me from having more serious injuries. It protected my head, nose, face and glasses. I highly recommend this helmet and strongly encourage you to wear the visor- both items worked together to prevent my injuries from being worse. I will be ordering a replacement helmet soon.

Saved my wife from major concussion / head injury
We bought a pair of these Basecamp helmets a year ago and comfortably rode with them ~100 miles a month since hoping we would never have to “test” their crash capabilities and yesterday my wife’s head was literally saved (see pic) from a major head injury yesterday after she was struck from her bike by a slow moving car. Note the crumpled zone on the helmet (see pic) where her helmet contacted the pavement after the hit which did a great job absorbing the blow. We just ordered an exact Basecamp helmet replacement for her for our future rides. We both like the adjustable fit twist knob which comfortably holds the helmet in place with the adjustable straps. My wife also appreciates the magnetic gray tinted visor which she prefers over sunglasses as it breaks the wind / protects her eyes and allows her the free use of her hearing aids without sunglasses. These helmets to us are sporty, not too heavy, and overall are a good value.

good helmet but may be susceptible to sun and heat over time.
This is the second time I've bought this helmet. I like the removeable visor and the light. I would like to share with buyers a caution. The attached pics show the helmet cracked open. This occurred not in a fall, but when the bike tipped over in the wind when it was parked with the helmet looped over the handle bars. This is a light weight magnesium bike and I shouldn't have thought this kind of force and weight would destroy the helmet so catastrophically. Makes me wonder just how effective it would be in an actual fall with my 160 pound body. The damaged helmet was several years old and may have suffered some weakening by exposure to light and heat over time. Who knows? I should also mention that the light crumbled away after a few years light exposure as well. Still, I like the fit and design so we'll see.....
