Several people have mentioned the difficulty of applying water. Has anyone tried using water-based baby wipes between the pads and the skin?

I have no problem what so ever just fill a small spray bottle and spray on belt and some on to the abs and put belt on and bingo away it goes with no problem ample duration with one lot of spraying , what's difficult in that ????

Can you move it up higher just below rip cage to target those ab muscles?

I don't advise it. The instructions clearly say around the stomach to avoid the risk of cardic arrest.
