Excellent Unique Light Upgrade
I bought this kit to replace the boring signal lights that Lego provides to you with their road plates set. In my opinion, this kit is a must for this set, as these traffic lights not only light up, but they display a signal change pattern for that added realism. While I would agree with other reviewers that it would have been cooler if they didn't flash yellow during the transition from red to green, I am glad that someone out there is actually trying to make it kinda thing at all, considering this kit is the only one I have found that attempts to replicate the changing light pattern of a real traffic signal. Was easy to connect it up, requiring a power source such as an energy bank or connection to a direct USB port.Overall, an A+ product from a small business that has provided a unique product!! Good for them....

Nice lights, flashing sequence off.
These are near additions, one ocd complaint. The light sequence on these is a little odd. To will go green, flashing yellow, red, flashing yellow, then green. Not really stop light patterns, but they still add a lot to the look. Would give 5 if they had a correct pattern.

Just don't get this, there are better choices
I thought the item had a battery pack and only needed recharged and not that it needed a constant power source. To make matters worse, I'm having a hard time returning the items because the return label is not paid for and the seller is expecting me to pay hundreds to return to China. First experience so far. DO NOT BUY!

Fantastic accessory for Lego train fans
This lighted LED signal gantry is perfect for anyone with Lego trains, whether for actual play or just shelf display. While not being genuine Lego bricks, the visible parts of the gantry assembly look identical to standard Lego parts once assembled, and will not stick out as "wrong" in any way. Many of the parts are customized so as to allow the wiring to pass through them, so you wouldn't want to mix them in with regular Legos anyway. The lighting system basically isn't Lego at all, it's wires and LEDs that you run through the Lego parts. This is really the only way to do it, and it works effectively. The wires and connectors are incredibly small and therefore exceedingly finicky to get lined up and mounted correctly, but once you get them in place they stay put solidly. I don't think you'll likely be assembling and disassembling this on the regular, so that's OK.The LEDs are very bright, the photos are accurate and do them justice. The little electronic control connector has timers built in to automatically change the lights between red and green, flashing a warning pattern in between. Of course there is no actual control of trains in any way, it's just for looks, but it's a really great look. :-)You get a battery box that takes 3 standard AA batteries to power the lights. However, that uses a standard USB-A connector, so if you wanted to use a regular cellphone charger that plugs directly into line power instead of batteries, you have that option as well. Either way works fine. The style of the gantry and lighting would fit any railroading era from the 1920s on, which covers the majority of common Lego trains. If you're playing with a Lone Ranger, Wild West, or Orient Express set, OK maybe you should go hunt for some semaphores, but otherwise it looks great and fits in well. One final observation is the astoundingly low price. If this was just an unlighted signal gantry sold as an official Lego set, I think it would cost far more than they want for this brightly lit and active one. What a great bargain!

Very cute brick-style train signal
This is a bit of a challenging build. The "Ages 14+" label definitely applies. It is good to have patience, good vision and small fingers when putting this together. Why? The electrical connectors are very small and need to fit inside of brick pieces, holes and in and around different parts. Add to this, the wires are understandably "light" and potentially easy to break.I didn't have any problem putting it together my vision is not 20-20 but I did need a very bright light to help me see where the wires need to go. The instructions are kind of clear but I have included a litany of images to show the build, in reverse order.I like the signal and do recommend it, especially if you have the ability to work with small wires and follow instructions. The connectors used are like that used on circuits from china for digital TV board interconnects. They are small, finicky and must be put in the right direction. You also do not want to make a mistake when attaching the wires. Make very sure before you make the connections! That being said, if you do follow the directions closely I think you will do ok. A smart kid and a grown man with moderate intelligence should be capable of putting this together properly. There is no glueing or soldering required. Just don't break anything! Hehe.I'm including a movie to show what the light looks like when connected to USB power. The functionality is good, tho' fragile. Fit is good. Compliance with brick fit is good. The LEDs are cute and are the right colors.
