Donkey Kong Country Returns HD

Leading up to its release I have seen so many people complaining about this game under a microscope. So many “critics” if you can even call them that, inspecting trailers looking for the slightest changes that they can go in on! I played Donkey Kong back on the Wii and it’s one of the greatest games to come out of that era. If you played the original and loved it back then you’re going to love it now on the Switch. It’s the exact same game with much better graphics and they really haven’t touched what didn’t need to be changed. If it has been changed it looks better for it. The music is so nostalgic, some of the best in gaming, amazing art design, the cutscenes look better, it feels exactly like it did when I last played it - just classic Nintendo entertainment. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. I haven’t been able to play the original for years so having an opportunity to play it now takes me back. This remaster is for the old school fans of the series but particularly fans of Country Returns game back on the Wii.

Love this game! Reminds me of the old SNES version that I used to play with my dad.We both love this new version and had a good laugh playing it.Also works well as a single player game too, but I find most nintendo games are even more fun with friends.

This is a very good platform game, bought as a gift for my son, he really liked it, but he said he would have liked it to be more difficult! Overall a good game for youngsters or those just starting out with gaming.

This game is identical to the original Nintendo Wii version but with better, clearer graphics for the Nintendo Switch. I personally believe it is a missed opportunity however, for the developers not to include characters from the sequel game "Tropical Freeze" or perhaps add 4 player local mini games similar to those found in the Kirby games. Regardless, this is a very fun 1 or 2 player platforming game for all ages!

I’ve loved Donkey Kong since the first time I played Donkey Kong Country on the SNES in the 90’s so couldn’t wait for this to be released on the Switch. I never played the Wii version so wasn’t sure what to expect but it hasn’t disappointed in the slightest! It has all the classic features including the amazing, nostalgic soundtrack, some of the best gameplay there is but with updated, superior graphics. What’s not to love?!

Do not fool yourself, this is not a new game, but it is one of the best... It beats Mario non stop as it is happy game, not complicated, but again do not be confused, it is difficult... Luckily they finally realised why we pay for games, and separated the heavy gamers from casual players, so every one can play and be happy!I do need a new DK as I have played all that there is...

Really enjoying this game and it's quite challenging too which is great. Also it looks lovely in HD. Definitely recommend.
