This transceiver module arrives in a plain cardboard box and the module is inside a plastic carton. The module feels well-built and feels like a quality product. I don’t know a lot about these modules, but they are supposed to be the better way to connect two switches together over long distances. I have my home network switch downstairs and my main network switch is now in the loft, so I needed a way to connect them together. I had to purchase another one of these as you need two for the connection. It slid into the slot with no issue and my network switch picked it up, found the connection, and set it up for me so it was really easy to setup, but this will be switch dependant. File transfer was fast, and I had no packet loss or corrupt files when transferring large files. The two switches can see each other, and devices connected to either of them can communicate over the entire network. The module was easy to install and was perfect for me as I didn’t have to set anything up in the software of each switch. It configured it on its own and it started working with no issues..

Being in the tech industry, I need reliable equipment. This transceiver module has seamlessly integrated into my network setup. The data transfer speeds are impressive and it has been performing consistently without any hiccups. It's a bit of an investment, but for professional use, it's worth it.

I am building my fibre ethernet extension to the workshop and looking at lots of router switch choices. This module became available and I am ready now once I choose the size of switch and number of ports for each end.It came packed in a small cardboard windowed box with blister pack and rubber plugs covering the optic ports. A well made module helping extend a high speed ethernet. The page describes a range of compatibility (I'm presuming because of firmware differences by manufacturers) and choices for purchase.

I don’t have the equipment to check the 10g capability of this transceiver but the 1g worked perfectly. This Opstran device worked straight out of the box. No setting up was required. It became slightly warm after an hours use, but nowhere near hot enough to call it overheating.As with so many electrical devices reliability is one of the most important considerations. The only way to test the reliability of this transceiver is to give it time to prove its worth. If there is anything further to report at a future date I will update this review accordingly.

I'm not going to pretend I fully understand all the techy stuff, but I needed to upgrade my network, and this little gadget did the trick. Install was a snap, and everything's running noticeably faster now. If you're in a similar boat, this seems like a solid option.
