Update: Stopped working after 3 days!
The media could not be loaded. ---------Update #3:---------The replacment arrived, and OMG, this is a completely different model. The wiring is different the control box is an actual molded product (instead of a peiced together box with ill-fitting components that don't really clip well inside it). Unfortunately it is only battery operated instead of both batter and AC options. But I was desperate for a working faucet so I installed it. I was originally hoping to just replace the faucet and be done, but since the wiring is different and the control box is different this was a much bigger project. After about an hour everything was installed and no leaks! Best of all, everything about this one is higher quality. The sensor works MUCH better and picks up my hands almost immediately, and stays on until I remove my hands. Verses the original one would keep turning on and off depending on if it saw my hands or not. I had to put my hands in a certain area. This one is SO MUCH BETTER. And the control box is such a nice product compared to the original one, which felt more like someone's hobby parts put in an ill-fitting box. This makes rating this faucet REALLY difficult because I now have a seemingly different product all-together. Which works great, and in every way better then the original (even when the original was working). But this review is for the original NOT the replacement, because the listing still shows the original. So what do I rate this at? It's difficult to recommend because of the problems, and now working with the improved one, the original seems like something to be avoided. I still think it's not even worth one star, and many reviews praising it don't seem to have actually installed it or used it.This new product, if it was at the same price would be an easy 5 stars, it's truly an incredible faucet, and excellent quality. See the two pictures of the new control box, notice it's a solid product, the wiring is a solid screw-on connector, instead of several different push together connectors.I've asked the seller about the details between the two products and if this original listing is now going to be updated to the newer product, or if it's still the orignal. I'll update with that information, but as it stands right now, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone other then hobbiests who enjoy tinkering with beta quality products. DO NOT USE THIS in a production environment where reliable access to water is needed or requried.---------Update #2:---------The seller did receive the video I sent to that unusual request, and responded within a few hours. I still do not think a video request was reasonable. They then asked for some pictures of the inside of the control box. Which I sent. Then they decided to send a replacement control box (I have no idea how they decided that it was that and not the faucet sensor or something in the faucet that was the problem).I received the replacement control box 5 days later, unfortunately because this is an electronically controlled faucet, there was no way to get it to work temperarily other then completely removing it and replacing it with the original. So I left it not working for 5 days. I replacement the control box, which was relatively easy, the whole process took just under 15 minutes. But upon plugging it in, it only sorta worked breifly for a few on-offs then stopped working again (which is the same problem I was having, if I left it uplugged for several hours, it would briefly work for a small on or off and then stop). So the control box didn't seem to be the problem. I tried both the old one and the replacement with batteries instead of plugging it into AC just to see if that made a difference, it did not. So I let the seller know that it still wasn't working, and they said they were sending an entire replacment (which I appreciate and thought should have been done when I first contacted them, not after a video, pictures and replacment control box).So another 5 days of a non-working sink in my entry bathroom... This really has me thinking about what a BIG problem it will be when a touchless faucet malfunctions, to have absolutely NO water acceess at all, is a big deal, compared to the mechanical ones that may just leak a little, or spit water out here and there, this is on and working or absoelty nothing.---------Update #1:---------On the third day, the faucet completely stopped working. Since it's electric driven, that means there is no water option whatsoever for this sink at the moment. No leaks, nothing electrical 'got wet.' I have reached out to the manufacturer and their response was:"Hi,sorry for the inconvenience caused, could you please provide a video let me check, thanks for your understanding."The message included a png picture file with the message:"Please send video to this email: [email protected] amazon email is not allowed to be send video."So that is a very unusual request from a manufacturer! I also do not appreciate a response with a video being required!. So I have dropped the star rating to 1 (only because 0 isn't available), and will update as we go. As of right now, I would not recommend anyone purchase this. Just my opinion of course.------------------------Original heading: It works like touchless faucets in businesses (the good and bad)Original rating 4 stars (because 3.5 isn't available)------I read one of the reviews here and it was stated that this could be adjusted to stay on for up to 60 seconds after it detects movement. This is not the case. Instead the manual (piece of paper) states that if you cover the sensor, it will run for 60 seconds before turning off, unless it detects more movement. So that's kind of nice to know, but I don't want to hold my hand on the sensor while I'm waiting for warm water. It has a temperature adjustment valve, which turns 45 degrees. I had to turn it 92% before it started getting not just COLD. 100% was just hot. So I've done very very small adjustments between 95% and 100% to achieve a warm comfortable temperature. BUT, since it takes a while for the faucet to warm up, like all faucets in the house, unless I hold my hand over the sensor and wait 60 seconds or longer, it's just cold to use. My old faucet I would turn to hot while doing something else and wait, then adjust the temp once the water was hot.I've only used touchless faucets at business (restaurants, public restrooms, etc.). I'm sure those commercial units are far more expensive then this, so not the best comparison, but it's all I have. This works as good, as what I've experience. I was REALLY hoping for some kind of adjustment for how long it can stay on after it detects movement, because I find it really annoying to have the water turn off and on and off and on while I'm washing my hands. And since this is pre-set to turn off within seconds of no detection, that is the experience, which is okay, but not ideal for me. This is on par with similar experiences at businesses, some of the touchless faucets are crazy sensitive and seem to only want to turn on the tiniest amount of time, and some are more generous and smooth. This one is somewhere in between, but not as generous or smooth as I would prefer. But also not terrible and stingy, so acceptable. I'm sure I will get used to the area to wash my hands over time, so it stays on as I'm washing.I find faucets in general not easy, because of working in confined spaces and awkward uncomfortable positions. This was a little more difficult then a normal faucet to install because it has so many parts, lots of joins, and plus electrical (who doesn't love the idea of electrical right beside water :O). Nothing leaked on my first test, and nothing has leaked since, all parts had washers, and good connections. But this is time consuming to install (plus the removal of another faucet). I'm pretty handy and capable, and I've probably installed less then a dozen faucets over the years. This took me almost 2 hours to complete. Someone in the reviews said 15 minutes. my complements to you.The outside feels plastic to me, so I'm a little concerned about scratches and scuffing over time. One of the reasons I got this was so I didn't have to keep cleaning the faucet so much (since wet hands don't have to turn anything off, hopefully this will get less scratches. Time will tell, I do wish it was a metal enclosure instead of plastic though.Difficult to say 3 or 4 stars, I'd give it 3.5 if I could, so I'll round up. It's on the low end of the prices currently (Feb 2024) for touchless faucets on amazon, and everything works, so unless it ages poorly, this seems like a good quality for the price product.
