Excellent Brand- Worth the Extra $$ Because… (see review)
I used to do landscaping and installed ponds and fountains. This was the brand my company used because it’s one of the best you can buy. One good reason to pay more for Little Giants is that if they ever die, you can easily open them and replace the diaphragm. Another good reason is that I have used them in my own ponds for 20yrs and I have never seen one die.

THIS IS THE MIGHTY DAVID PRODUCT, THAT STANDS UP TO THE EVERYDAY WEAR & TEAR GOLIATH!!!
I did a lot of research & made several phone calls to various pump manufacturing companies because I don't want to be bothered with replacing a 2-tier fountain pump within the next 5 years. My discovery? Most of the products out there are short-term cheap junk, like a cheap inflatable pool, green alligator for the kids that quickly gets a minor hole in the seam & can't be patched reliably.BOTTOM LINE: I RARELY POST, BUT THIS T-REX IS ROBUST, SUBSTANTIAL & HAS A NICE POWERFUL FLOW TO IT WITHOUT BEING DISTRACTING OR OVERBEARING. THAT'S THE WAY THAE KIDS THEIR DINOSAURS & MY BRIDE & I LIKE OUR FOUNTAIN PUMP. IT'S A RELIABLE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING!

Best price is pennies below a c-note for two
I have a five~ foot, three tier, fountain at the front door of my residence. First of these pumps I purchased with the fountain. I hammer it full throttle 24/7, and the original lasted five or six years. Sept 2014 purchased a replacement via Amazon. No fault of Amazon, but that one lasted 18 months. Speaks to either diminished quality of the Little Giant product line over the years, or perhaps my specific conditions. (They are all made in China. Consider trade agreements when you vote.) You will need to wipe leaves, debris, etc. from the intake face every day or three. No big deal. When it quits, (trips GFI) you will need to disassemble and clean the impeller shaft per instructions. If, and when at that point, consider your replacement order. Which brings me to the 2016 replacement mini-conundrum. Best price is pennies below a c-note for two. ($49.79 x 2) Two day guarantied shipping via Amazon is an extra $4.33 per unit. However, Amazon has a legal nexus with my state for sales tax. Tack that on verses the best price vendor who does not. Conundrum easily decided with one ordered for a bit quicker shipment via Amazon, then the spare from the best price vendor on day three to nine. Now if you find yourself with gasping koi, go the quick route. If you are cleaning the impeller to get it to work, bet my notice it’s time to order the replacement. Over decades, I’ve put eight power supplies in the PC I’m using to type this review. If you are hammering something with moving parts, (P/S = Fan) and you want it 24/7… Duh, have a spare. Regards.11.09.2019Using that spare... Ordering another.@amazon ~ Thanks for reasonable prices.

Strong pump for its size
I've heard great things about this brand so I decided to buy one after my previous pond pump went out. This pump is very strong for its size, and feels better built than my last one. It has no problems circulating water in my koi pond up to the filter/waterfall.

GOOD PUMP; PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE?
I have owned 5 of this model pump over the years. It is expensive but has decent quality and reliability. Every failure I have had is due to wear on the inside of the rotor from its spinning on the metal shaft. It wears to the extent that it makes contact with the stator and cannot start and run reliably. I do not replace the old pump with the new; I put the rotor from the new pump into the old pump. Anyone can do this using no tools in 5 minutes. Why does the manufacturer not make the rotor available as a replacement?

Great little fountain pump
This little giant pump was perfect for our water feature. We had a more powerful little giant pump, but it was way too powerful for our small fountain water feature.

Second pump has failed
Do not buy from Little Giant, this is the second pump that failed under the warranty period. I did not submit a warranty claim for the first one, but did for the second. The company acknowledged the warranty claim and so far I've been waiting for 2 months with no pump. The company says the pump is "back ordered" and it may be another month before they are restocked, but no guarantee of that. I offered to buy a replacement pump and send them the receipt for reimbursement, but they said NO. I suggested that they buy a pump from Amazon or any of several other retailers for me, but the answer again was NO! They have a warranty on their products, but do not have customer service to back it up.
