Love these filters. They are rectangular and fit inside a plastic compartment that also filters. I love the stainless steel water fountains so much better. I think they are cleaner for the cats. Lasts longer then plastic ones with round filters.

All I can say is WOW. This fountain is so well thought out. I have used many! It was super easy to put together. The parts and assembly are SOLID, no poor fitting elements. The size is perfect, water window perfect, charging cord, cable AND block perfect, silent pump and silent water splash, no water messes outside of fountain…PURRRFECT. The set includes tiny brushes to clean water spout. The packaging, QA/inspection card, and speed of delivery all good. Treat your furry friends to a new fountain this holiday season. I've tried at least 5 different cat fountains over the last 5 years. I have 4 cats and all except for 1 will drink from it. I originally bought it for my oldest because he loves to drink from the faucet, but I don't find tap water to be trustworthy. I found this one for a good price and it had a spout that my cat can stick his head under which he loves to do when he drinks from the faucet. It's extremely quiet, the motor doesn't burn up when the water runs out. I did get the one that has the light indicator which is super helpful. Most importantly it doesn't get full of nasty bacteria in-between cleanings. I was leary at first when I saw the plastic that was used, it seemed cheap but it's so easy to clean and it stays clean. I love this fountain so much. Hopefully it will last a long time.

The media could not be loaded. I have a male cat and he would drink from his water bowl when I would refill it for him. He would also like drinking toilet water. He seems to like cold, fresh water. I would close all my toilets after using them, so he wouldn't drink toilet water, but then my cat loving friend told me we should leave hers open to let the cat drink more water. Male cats need more water than females to help prevent urinary tract diseases. I did not feel comfortable giving my cat toilet water to drink, considering what toilets are for. Another friend recommended a cat water fountain. She got one for her cat and he loved his and stopped drinking her sink and toilet water. I figured I would try it.My cat drinks more water from his new Kitty Spout Cat Water Fountain than he ever has in the past. I am cleaning out more cat litter, from him urinating, than in the past as well. It is so quiet too! I really like that it has an extra bowl and if you loose power he will still have access to water. It is also very helpful that you can see how much water is remaining and when you need to add more, the blue light turns red. I always replace the filter and water when that occurs. Since we got this fountain, the best thing we found is that our cat drinks much more water and does not drink from open toilets any longer!

I was thrilled with this fountain when I first got it, as it is much quieter and more attractive than any I’ve previously had. It worked flawlessly for months. Suddenly, within the last few weeks, it started overflowing while it was operating. At first it was taking a couple days to leak out, but it kept getting worse and worse to the point where the entire fountain was emptying itself within two hours. I could not figure out what was going on, first I thought maybe it was leaking. But no, instead it was literally overflowing over the top. I was struggling to understand why. I tried filling it more, I tried filling it less, I tried changing the position of the bowl, making sure that the lid was seated correctly, everything I could think of. And then finally I had a brain wave and thought to check the filter. Sure enough, the filter was clogged.Obviously, that is my fault… But I think it’s a bit of a design flaw that simply having a clogged filter causes it to pump all of its water onto your floor! My hardwood floors actually started to begin to stain, despite the absorbent mat I had underneath the fountain.It’s still a good fountain, so I won’t tell you not to buy it, but I will tell you to be diligent about replacing your filters! Otherwise, you’re in for a real headache.
