What is glass? Just the blender? Just the food processor? Or both?

Only the blender container is glass and very sturdy-feeling; the food processor part is plastic and feels much more flimsy (at least on mine.) That's one thing that surprised me.

Does the milk shake blade fit tho model

You bet! The milkshake blade is compatible with this Classic Series blender. It will make your milkshakes smooth and less watery than a regular blending blade!

Can you safety blend hot liquid?

In terms of materials, the pitcher is made of very thick glass and the blades are metal. I don't know if the glass is tempered, but it is thick. I would wait until it cooled down some. If I couldn't wait, I would do it in small batches and secure the top with my hand.

Does a mason jar fit on this?

I've had the older model of this blender for year and have successfully used quart and pint mason jars. I don't go crazy with it, but have had no problems.
