Worked perfectly for the first use. Not too heavy. Easy to use and glides right through my hair. Doesn’t get tangled. I had a perm a year ago, and had frizzy wavy hair before that too. I used this only on 320 setting out of 450 and the heat was great, and it heated up quickly! One swipe under a section of hair and my hair was straight, I did another swipe to try and curl it under at the ends a bit. I’m very pleased with this product, and the price is excellent too. I actually purchased a more expensive one from Sally’s that I had to return because it wouldn’t heat up. Then tried one from Walmart that I had to return because it didn’t do anything for my hair and tangled easy. Third time is a charm I guess. As long as it keeps working and heating as it does, then it is perfect! Also made my hair feel very soft, and didn’t burn my scalp or hands. The temperature locks in if you want so that if you bump the buttons on accident it doesn’t change. Def recommend!

So, this thing is not going to give early 2000s pin straight hair, just so you know. I mostly got this bc I have this spot on the back of my head that I can never get straight, but I guess it's just untamed bc this didn't work lol But I still like it and I think it was worth the price.I hardly straighten my hair, but I've been doing it a little more often since I got this bc this makes the process so much faster and easier than my tiny old school one.I have fine hair, and I think I have mine set at 325. The first time I used it I was trying to get the waves on the back of my head straight and cranked it all the way up and it did burn my scalp a little and fried my hair. nothing major, but enough for me to realize I should probably just follow the directions and accept that that spot will just never be straight.Like other reviewers, I do find the auto lock pretty annoying though, but like I said I don't use this daily so it's not a huge deal for me.I think it works well for the price and I'm happy with it, just follow the directions it gives you for hair type and don't expect miracles from it if you want pin straight hair.

I struggle to deal with flat irons, so thought I would give this a try. One thing, I have tangle prone hair, so first time out the gate it kept getting stuck on the tangles. Lesson learned! Now I brush my hair out with my wet brush to detangle while this is heating up. Now it’s working exactly as I expect. My hair goes down to the middle of my back and I can straighten it in 10-15 mins. I saw reviews mentioning that it won’t turn off… I had that trouble too, so reread the directions. What you need to do is hit the power button twice quickly to “unlock” it and then hold until it turns off.

I got this for my daughter to use because she was telling me that she was wanting to straighten her hair but was too afraid to use a regular straightener. The only complain is that after it was on and was already used, I tried to turn it off by clicking the power button and nothing happened. So then I held the power button and it locked. I was not able to unlock it so I just unplugged it from the wall. Other than that it is a great product.
