Q: does the tea spout (where the spout and body meet) have holes or is it just one hole?

Since the answers differ, maybe it varies from color/pattern to color/pattern. I ordered the "cream," which is the same in other Gracie China teacup sets as the "Pink Petite Fleur." It has nine holes in a diamond pattern inside where the spout meets the body of the teapot. I would note also that, because I don't want Madame Trelawney reading my tea leaves, I use a standard metal infuser/strainer that came with a tea mug. It fits the top hole of my teapot perfectly, and no having to deal with anything that gets through the teapot's "strainer"...although tea purists may consider this cheating. :)

Q: How many ounces hold each teacup?

I don't have the set (it was purchased for a raffle) so I can't measure, but I believe that they are the standard 6 oz. tea cup size.

Yes, I believe that I saw just 4 extra cups and saucers available for this.

the cup weight is that of a light weight ceramic cup. The tea pot with water is light enough for my four year old twin granddaughters to pour their tea. It's a great weight for a sturdy tea set,
