Q: Can the batteries be removed so the teddy can be washed?

No, the batteries are sewed inside. Once it stops working it can’t be fixed unless you rip him apart.

Q: Why are they offering batteries to the toy for £22, if you can't replace the batteries?

No idea because you can’t change them without damaging the toy. I have brought this toy about 6-7 months ago and both my kids play with him every single day & the same batteries are absolutely fine. Think you will be ok :)

We bought it for £14.99 and batteries are with it... it’s also been going strong since August so it doesn’t eat the batteries. Think another 4 packs is overkill lol.

Nice toy but dissappointed .

Looks like Duggee but does not sound like him . My daughter in law watches the programme everyday with my 7 month old grandaughter , she can do the voice better than the toy !!I wish I had of checked the toy before I gave it to my grandaughter as I would of sent it back , it sounds sort of tinny like its been recorded of the TV on low volume .

I love it; my toddler is terrified of him

But my toddler is 18 months old, so I wouldn't value his opinion. I bought this as a Christmas present for my son, who loved watching the Duggee cartoon. I thought this would be a wonder present. Little did I know that he'd be absolutely terrified of it. I haven't given up hope in him getting over his fear. Regardless, it's a super little teddy bear. He's currently employed on the hearth, to keep said toddler from messing with the stove.
