Day Clock "Cambrian" by Dayclox

My gran has found this extremely useful. Her short term memory is pretty much shot, and losing track of what day it is became the norm, especially after napping in the afternoon or evening and thinking one or even two days have gone by. The longer daylight hours of summertime haven't helped.With this clock she is reassured and no longer needs to worry about asking people the day (she rings my parents less and worries less). She learned to read it quickly with the bold and uncluttered display. She can also make out if it's AM or PM depending on the hand position before or after the 'black dot' (black circle with a 12 halfway through day segment in she cannot see properly).This product has also proven a hit with some of her friends who live in the same care home, who can pop in to check what day it is and also say hello to my Gran.

Have purchased as my 82 year old dad is finding it somewhat hard to remember what day it is. We suspect he may have early dementia now as there are other signs of this condition rearing its ugly head. Hopefully when I take him the clock he will be relieved as its very frustrating him not knowing and continually asking what day of the week we are on. I have had the clock running and its working well so hopefully he will be acceptable of it and find it useful I will be taking the clock to him tomorrow and he can then use his TV magazine on the right day!!.UPDATE; The clock is working well unfortunately my dad would not have it so it currently hangs in my house despite the fact it would have been of great help to him never mind I tried!

Brought this because being retired, you do seem to forget days happy with it

Great clock, helps Mum out well. Only negative thing need to run for a few hours to make sure it's working. Would have been nice, to have a indicator to show it working. But it's working well, and definitely a boon to Mum, gives her back her independence

An attractive clock, seems to work well. It was well packaged and was delivered much quicker than anticipated.

It is a quirky addition to my living room and follows a discussion with two friends, also aged and retired and sometimes unsure of what day it is. We concluded that "It is xxxday. That means that I have to..do whatever I choose!"

Did what I expected. The dial is clear and easy to read from a distance. As I grew up along the Cambrian railway, I appreciate the design. This clock helps me focus on the weekly flow of time. Many of my tasks are measured in weeks. Seeing the week flow by rather than a day helps greatly. I would like to be able to specify a bespoke design with weekends, daily leisure/sleep hours shaded and regular meetings printed on the clock face at about the appropriate time. Much easier to look at than a paper or computer based system.

I’ve now bought two of these for a family member who sadly has dementia. Many of the clocks they recommend are let’s say not subtle and would make a person feel like they are struggling. My family member is fine with the time but has been struggling with what day of the week it is and worried as a result. This clock has really helped them. They now have one of these clocks in both the living room and bedroom, which has really reduced stress and worry as certain things like bin collection happen every week.Thank you to the designers and company.
