I just had a hip replacement and needed to raise my toilet up for recovery. This riser is perfect for my needs. Installed in minutes, looks nice, and even uses my existing soft-close seat. The ideal solution.

This riser prevents your kneecaps from being as high as your belly-button while you’re sitting on the throne. I’m six-foot-two and never thought about seat height until I had a gout attack in my knees. This spacer makes it easier to rise after you’ve done your business.It was easy to install except that the original seat mounting holes on your wood or plastic seat will need to be slightly enlarged to fit the heavy-duty mounting bolts that come with this kit. I used a taper-reamer to enlarge mine, but a drill would also have worked.The larger bolts are necessary to keep the spacer and the toilet seat aligned, but once tightened, the seat is highly stable. This seems to be a well-designed and well-made product. I’ve just ordered a second one for my master bathroom.

Sent back .. didn’t work for me.. rim too narrow

I was somewhat reluctant to install this high rise seat. But i did install it within a few hours after I received it. The reluctance was because it would be too high for my 4' 10" wife. She was ultimately ok with it because we had riser steps, bought months before or Amazon, that she can use is she wants to use it.It made it much easier for me to manage a catheter that I had to keep inserted for a month as the height was perfect, keeping the tubing out of the water, and the seating comfortable. Sitting on the stool and getting off of it was easier as was number two.Definitely glad I bought and installed it. If you're short you need one of lesser rise (thickness).

The riser works as advertised… it raises the height of the toilet seat. It has long bolts and installs easily, which is a plus. However, there’s a 1/8 inch gap between the plastic riser and the bowl rim, so regardless of gender and best efforts to prevent it, you will have spray in the gap that will leak and drip onto the floor. I had to disassemble it every few days for a thorough cleaning in, on, and around the toilet. Definitely do not use if you have a carpeted bathroom.

Works great easy to install

Do not buy this if you are concerned with being able to clean between the seat and the actual toilet bowl. It is bolted to the bowl, however it has pads that allow the urine to run between the two surfaces. You will have a terrible problem with the smell even cleaning your toilet daily, unless you want to unbolt the seat every few days, clean, and then reattach.
