Sadly it did not work on my television
It is a very nicely made unit and works as it should. However, some Utube reviews said it would work with most L.G. televisions. Sadly this was not the case with my LG model no: 65UN81006LB. I give this information so as to help others with this model TV. In no way is it the fault of 'Cable Matters' it is due to the failings of the LG company who have not allowed USB/ethernet adapters to work with their units through USB. 100Mbps is inadequate in this modern age and they fail to upgrade their ethernet in access of 100Mbps. This is the reason TV owners strive to improve matters for themselves by using Gigabyte ethenet adapters so they can stream live videos without constant buffering or frequent freezes. The addition of Ethernet Gigabyte would ownly add very negligable cost to a TVI would llike to add, I contacted 'Cable Matters about the problem, they replied almost immediaately with valuable tech' information. A big credit to Andrew on the team for his advice & help. In all other respects this device is recommended.

Works but not the fastest on my LG TV
I have gigabit Internet and on my LG OLED65CS6LA TV I get between 30 - 90Mbps using this adapter (testing with the Netflix speed test). I wasn't expecting the full gigabit speed as I realise it's limited by USB 2.0 speed but I don't even get close to this USB 2.0 speed. On my desktop computer I get the full gig through this adapter. So I would not recommend this adapter for a OLED65CS6LA TV but seems to work at the advertised speeds on a computer.

Doesn't work on older Sony Android 9.0 based Smart TV's.
This is a good product. It's cheap, plug n' play and works as advertised, such as on a PC/Laptop. However, for my own personal use case, it was a waste of money. Why?I tried it on my 2017 Sony Bravia KD-43XE8077 smart television which has a USB 3.0 port (NB: USB 3.0 is required for 1Gb speeds), however, like all smart TV's, it only has 10/100 ethernet.Potentially then, this USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter was an ideal solution to get 1Gb ethernet on my TV.To my disappointment, it didn't work, although the LED lights turned on and flashed. NB: Activating 'developer mode' in the television's settings and activating USB to ethernet didn't work either. After much research on forums, it turns out my television is Android 9.0 based but if you have a Sony TV, it must be at least Android 10 based for this ethernet adapter- which means a Sony TV from 2021 onwards.Lesson learned.

Does what it claims
When plugged in to a USB 3 port on my Sony A90J TV I was getting close to 900MBps which is double the throughput achieved without the purchase so highly recommended
