Useful for part-time dog control.
My dogs don't go upstairs unless invited, but sometimes I wind up dogsitting my mother's pair of Boston Terror..er, Terriers. One of whom believes that all waste receptacles must be overturned and inspected thoroughly, and who likes to handle biological issues by thinking, "That's okay, I'll just go up here out of the way when no one is looking and leave my poo." Which is not cool, as far as I'm concerned. This gate is really ideal. It goes up very easily with the four hooks, and they are deep enough to hold the loops well. I didn't need the screws to attach to walls/stairs, but I appreciated them being included. What's really nice is that in between visits from Mom's dogs, I can just fold this up and put it in a drawer by the stairs, and have it out and up in less time than it takes me to take the garbage out before someone shows up to pull it over.

DO NOT BUY!
If I could give this product minus 10 stars, I would. It looks great in the photo, but in reality, it's made from cheap materials that don't perform as intended. Followed the instructions, and could not get the hooks to stick to the wall. I was unable to hang the netting to create the gate. There was no lockability behind this gate. Assembly was easy since it didn't have many pieces. They didn't work. Do not waste your time and money.

šMesh Miss: Didn't Quite Cut It for My Canine Houdiniš
I was initially drawn to this mesh gate for its seemingly easy installation and the promise of keeping my dog out of certain areas. While the setup was indeed straightforward, and the gate seemed reasonably durable at first, it unfortunately didn't hold up to my large dog.Within a few months of use, my dog was able to easily push through or maneuver around the mesh. It simply wasn't a strong enough barrier for a determined, larger breed. I ended up having to purchase a larger, more robust plastic gate shortly after, which has proven to be a much more effective solution. If you have a smaller, less persistent dog, this gate might work fine. However, if you own a medium to large-sized dog, especially one that's determined to get through barriers, I'd recommend looking for a sturdier option. This mesh gate, while convenient, ultimately wasn't a long-term solution for my needs.

Perfect! Great for small schnoodles
My small Schnoodle does not mess with this at all even if I have it hooked on the two upper hooks and the two bottom hooks are not even attached. He still doesnāt enter in because itās blocked. Set up was a breeze under five minutes, maybe even less than that. Easy design easy installation the hooks have very sticky tape so be careful applying it to walls that have paint because it might chip off. But that just shows itās stable to keep the gate up. I am very impressed. This is definitely better and easier to keep my dog out of the living room when Iām at work. I have a problem with him, pulling all the pillows down off all the couches and leaving accidents so this helps control him instead of taking him out every two hours with that gate up. Itās now 3 to 4 hours with him being three years old. He should be able to be continent for a slightly longer period. Iām just happy to come home and the living room stay in a neat way. I am impressed itās only 2 days he is already use to it and his boundaries. Thank you!!

These work well - may want to take all the way off when not using it
These work really well when they are up and closed, however they don't have a nice neat "open" way to store them while still attached on one side. You may need to create your own mechanism for wrapping it up when also open. It is very easy to remove completely and put back up though, so if you have a good place to store it nearby, you can always just take it all the way down when you want it open and then put it back up. I also tried rolling it up to the side, and used a curtain tie to keep it rolled up, but it wasn't very tight and still looked kind of messy. Also, depending on how small your pet is, you may need to tack down the bottom middle if it's not tight enough going across. One of my Poms is very crafty, and he was able to push under it, despite it being relatively taught. I put a nail in the middle right under the lip of the top stair, and I poke it through the bottom of the screen when it's up. Works great. Just make sure the nail is in far enough and covered enough that no one can scrape their foot on it as they're climbing the stairs. Make sure you measure the opening and order the right size as well. You want it to be tight going across, but not too far from the walls that your pets or kids can climb through the gaps on the sides.

Dog still went under
I installed the screen all the way at the bottom of the baseboard, leaving virtually no space between the floor and screen, then pulled it as taught as it can be and my 10lb schnoodle still managed to get underneath the screen. Returning for a gate.
