I bought this to make inexpensive Chinese jumpropes for a college class unit about children's fitness, so I can't speak to its quality for sewing. I also used the jumpropes for one class period so can't say how long they'll hold up; however for use twice a year, this was cheap and effective option. ( Cut 12-foot lengths of elastic and knot the two ends together. If you want them for children, you could probably go shorter.)After making 3 jumpropes, there's a LOT of elastic left over. I'll make more jumpropes and also use the elastic for sewing. It's soft and stretchy.

I wanted to make a shirred waistband skirt so I needed a lot of elastic. This stuff is wonderful. It is very soft and super stretchy, but all together it becomes very strong and firm. I anticipate being able to use it for neckbands and sleeves for peasant blouses, too.

I ordered the 1/8 inch elastic to turn tiny stuffed animals into wrist accessories for full sized Build A Bears. (A teddy bear for a teddy bear!). I like the length for the price. It has good stretch and has worked out really well. My only thing to note is that the elastic is not as pristine white as pictured.

This was just what I needed and is a very good value. Very convenient to get it on a spool for continued use! It is strong with a great amount of stretch!
