It's a good size & my cats love it, especially when it rains. The entrance is 40cms x 20cms & it's very roomy. I recommend it if your cat is large or small dog - Pug size.

what size of dog would this take

My dog is a shizshu not much bigger than that....it wouldn't do a dog the size of a lab

Would this be ok for a miniature dachshund??

Yes shld be big enough for miniature daschund..one of my cats is quite large...approx 16" long curled up and approx 6-7kg.. and he fits comfortably in the kennel.. doesn't come with a cushioned bed, so seperate purchase needed...?? It must be noted, that the kennel, shld only be used as a day kennel..as not enclosed enough to keep generated heat internalised, to the kennel,from pets body heat..?? Other than that, excellent build quality and quality of materials used.
