Returned. Only gave 4 stars because what it seems to be well made, and does work to charge my phone in the car - I was trying to use as a media cable to play music podcast over car system. My car is older and before Apple car play. Had an adapter that worked with my old phone and tried to replace for new phone ‘ with’ USB-C adapter. But car didn’t recognize it, old adapter USB-A worked fine so I know it’s not the car. So if your only using to charge - go ahead and get it. But if you need a data cable then can’t recommend and this is why 4 stars instead of 5.

I used this several times a week to connect an old iPod to my car's sound system. It worked fine for a couple weeks. After that, I often had to jiggle and otherwise mess with the USB end to get it to connect. That quickly got worse in terms of how often I had to do it, how much was required each time to get it to work, and how often I just couldn't get it to work at all. I ended buying a different cord to replace it after less than two months, and that one is working fine under the same conditions, so the problem was definitely this cord.
