Used to have to import this, but no more. The best product I've found for my decking, now 20yrs old, and has survived that long because of this product. Tried others but they're all a very poor second.

Easy application and provides great protection.

We have an outbuilding with cedar cladding. It was becoming grey and as per the instructions left by the builders, after one year we used this stuff on it. It’s gone from greyish/ silvery back to a warm brown colour, which is what I wanted. Expensive but it works well.

Textrol was recommended by the builder who installed my hard wood decking and I have been using it for a number of years - no more! This is an awkward product to apply and the results were indifferent no matter how diligently I cleaned and prepared the decking in advance. I contacted the manufacturer and was advised to prepare using their cleaner (Netrol) which was to sit wet on the decking for several hours before thoroughly washing off. The decking was then to dry thoroughly for a couple of days before applying the Textrol which all had to be applied wet - it could not dry between coats. The results were at best indifferent and on the last occasion, poor. Specifically the Textrol is not easily absorbed into the wood, the finish is patchy, it creates glassy areas despite my efforts to remove any excess with brush. After labouring for far too long with this product I switched to another that does exactly what it says on the tin. The difference is stark and I realise this product is ot of date and was probably formulated many years ago. The alternative is much easier to apply, is readily absorbed, drys quickly and evenly, restores the colour more effectively and does not leave patches or an uneven finish. Owatrol need to stop relying on out-dated chemistry, reformulate their product, get into the 21 century and publish videos documenting how to use their products and how it actually works.. I advise other DIYers to avoid this product until they publish video evidence that it can actually deliver the results claimed on the packaging.
