Balto Jump CCL Brace – Dog Knee Brace – Brace with Aluminum Splints – Pre/Post Surgery Support Helps Prevent New Injuries – Right Leg, Extra Extra Small

I waited til my dog healed several months later after buying Balto dog leg brace to form a solid opinion about it for dog parents:My dog had a second acl knee injury and this time I searched around for a good leg brace, tho the vet wasnt thrilled I read enough reviews to see if this would be better than her 1st after knee surgery recovery on the other leg, which vet recommended against any brace he was very disproving, this time I decided to try a brace and after reading reviews opted for Balto. I mean, people get braces, horses get braces, why not dogs??? right, so...The acl leg brace is strong but light, well made and simple to use after putting on Ginger a few times. It needed little adjustment and I cut off the excess strap to make it easier to put on next time, once we got it adjusted right a few times. Gotta admit it was awkward at 1st. There is an extra strap but we never needed it.Oh, tho it is padded, with a soft leather like neoprene: I did add some terry cloth sewn to an area that rubbed a tiny spot on her hock(joint) area, and that worked when she became more active.It was a long recovery just like the 1st time but this brace aided in her comfort & stability while she healed, I did not leave it on longer than hour or 2 at a time, used only when she needed to go out and Ginger appreciated it (not at 1st lol I think she was confused til she felt more confident with it on, then she did better). Finally she healed after about 6-7 months, and can even run a bit, does about 3miles walking 4, 5x week but she is 12 so goes slow. All in all, it was worth it. I'm glad I got it for her. I didnt receive anything for this review, simply a pet parent who cares about thier furbaby.I put it on Ginger today so you could see it on, she was like..ok.... but I don't need it anymore lol which, she she no longer does, than goodness.

This doesn’t work at all. The straps are incredibly uncomfortable and rub against my dog’s legs. The straps do not stay in place and therefore the brace slips down. This was just a complete waste of money. I’m returning it.

My Silky is left knee , luxuating patella, it does not work xxsmall was to small n returned it to get a size bigger n the size bigger is to big, so please would you refund my money or let me try another type of brace?

This is the second brace we have got, the first one I will be re ordering. I purchased this one because the first one really helped our pup with a knee issue. ( different brand) got this one because how good it was said to be, big mistake! You can’t return even on the same day it arrives, it will not stay on/ in place. Very little support. Complete waste of money now we have a $130.00 peace of trash and have to have our pup wait longer for a $30 brace to come in that we know actually works. Stay away!!!

The media could not be loaded. I considered this brace for months before I purchased it. I was so happy to see it on Amazon because I didn’t want to be stuck with a relatively expensive brace that we couldn’t use. Her measurements landed between large & medium. After contacting the company, I ordered a large. It was too big. I immediately returned it (Amazon makes returns so simple and relatively effortless- which is by I look purchase items on Amazon first) and got a medium instead. Please don’t make the mistake that I did - read the directions BEFORE fitting it on your dog. I didn’t realize that there’s a fitting for a male dog Vs. a female dog and 1) had it in my dog improperly where her knee didn’t fit into the hole and 2) almost ruined it by continually “cutting the straps to fit”. I actually had to go back and sew a piece back on. 🤣I really like this brace. It’s sturdy, is made of quality material, gives my 66 lb, active girl the support that she needs, and I t didn’t “break the bank” .She only wears the brace for walks. She does not wear it in the house. It restricts movement in her hind leg and makes it difficult for her to sit down and/or get up comfortably.If your dog has a ccl injury and you’re looking for a brace; I’d definitely suggest trying this one.

My female labrador injured her left knee and after trying three different brands of braces found that only the Balco actually worked as described. The other brands on amazon are significantly cheaper to buy, but use a neoprene belly strap to hold the knee support in place. This strap ends up rotating very quickly towards the brace and the brace falls to the dogs ankle rendering it useless. The Balco has a different method to secure the brace and after some fine tuning works really well......don't do what I did and waste your time with the cheaper neoprene braces, this brace is worth every penny!

I paid quite a bit for a product that was used. It arrived with dog hair on it. Tried it on my dog anyway and it was not helpful. No support for his injury. Not eligible for a return either. I am very unhappy.

This brace was just what we needed. My dog had injured his back leg and needed to rest it. We followed the directions for putting it on and for how much he should wear it. It allowed him to heal and now he is back to walking normally.
