A friend of mine recently had all his equipment stolen from his vehicle, and the first thing I thought was let’s track them. Unfortunately he did not have AirTags on anything and this would’ve been a huge lifesaver. Ever since that I’ve tagged my gear and these smallrig AirTag holders are perfect for keeping things discrete. I strongly recommend them as an additional security measure, in the event the unfortunate happens at least you have that peace of mind.

When you buy a $3k camera, you will do whatever necessary to keep it secure. Since I have a smallrig cage attached to mine, this purchase was a no-brainer.Install was a breeze. I was impressed at the design. The AirTag holder attaches to the cage using two screws on the inside of the case. Then the tag is inserted and the cover is screwed on over it using the special security screws/screwdriver included. It is secured in a way that would make it extremely difficult for a thief to remove, yet incredibly simple for you to remove once you opened the case. As a bonus, mounting it to the side of the cage also puts it close enough to the side mount that it makes it more difficult to remove the cage from the camera.The one minor complaint I have is that having to attach it to the side means it gets in the way if you want to attach a handle or other accessory. It also makes holding the camera a little bulkier on the left side. I am not sure if smallrig makes a cage with an AirTag slot build into the body, but I think that would be a very convenient feature.

This little thing keeps an AirTag fine and the people don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s a little big for a camera body but it works and looks fine. Come with the tools and it’s easy to install.

I use these on all of my cameras now - we take them to many live events and gives me a little bit of piece of mind to know that all of my Cameras have airtags on them, I have them in all of my camera Cases, Laptop Cases, an AirTag Card from Eskter, and even Airtag my kids backpack. This is a must have for anyone who has a camera with a cage/rig that you take out of the studio to live events, trade shows, etc. SmallRig makes great quality products for their price, and spending a few bucks on an Airtag and this holder for each of your cameras (Mine range from $2000 - $7000+ fully built out) so this is pretty much a must have device for tracking your cameras and preventing them from getting stolen or lost.

The cage is well-built with durable materials and fits the AirTag perfectly. The sleek design doesn’t add too much bulk, and it blends well with my gear. The only drawback is that it could be slightly more adjustable for different mounting scenarios.

THIS IS COMPATIBLE WITH MOTO TAG. I am a bit Anti-Apple so grabbed some Moto Tags for my Galaxy phone and was excited to see this as a way to protect and track my BMCC6K. Installed to the side of my SmallRig cage and Moto Tag fits in it perfect. The design is perfect, secure, and inconspicuous. It also allows me to still be able to click the button for Moto Tag if needed. HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT!

This is such a great idea. I covered the smallrig logo to keep it more incognito. Best investment for your expensive gear.
