Is this splat mat waterproof?

Happy to answer this for you. The surface of the Wildcubz splat mat is considered waterproof as it is water repellent / resistant, all with the advantage of still being machine washable.

Does food wipe off this material easily or does it stain?

Thank you for the feedback, Bellini. While most messes will wipe off or wash out, it's possible for the mat to become stained when certain organic material permeates the top layer of fabric. The ultimate goal is for the mat to protect your floors and carpets from these messes. But we understand that you want the mat to look good too. We decided to not add full stain repellency because it meant adding harmful chemicals, and we aim to bring you a toxic-free product. We value this input and are continually looking for ways to improve our products.

What's the best way to wash it?

We recommend wiping clean or machine wash cold/warm water. In order to maintain the effectiveness of the mat, we recommend you hang dry whenever possible rather than tumble dry. Don't iron, dry clean, bleach or use softeners.
