Easy Timer Electric Coffee Maker for 6 Cups – Aluminium in Black/Grey

Expensive, but a lovely coffee maker, complete with soothing japanese style "tune" when the coffee is done. Really easy to use and looks robust.It's designed to make very small, strong coffees. So the "6 cups" advertised are espresso style cups - the volume is actually about three quarters of a mug, for those of you looking for one strong mug of coffee in the morning! (Although it's easy to make stronger coffee and top up with hot water to make two mugs). So much less messy than the coffee press my partner had before - I bought it as a gift and he loves it.

I've bought a million items through amazon. This is the first time I took the time to post a review. This Bialetti is the best gadget I own (and I own a lot of them) to brew a great cup of coffee and probably will be the last I buy. The greatest feature is the timer, I set it up at night to wake up to this beautiful smell of coffee freshly brewed all over the house. Simply fantastic, soothing and addictive.

This machine started out great. Good coffee on demand. But on 2nd use it leaked from the bottom , luckily I noticed before I put it in its electrical outlet.

Amazing coffee machine, consistent delicious flavour all the time. So easy to use with the automatic timer, wish I'd bought it years ago. I use Illy classic roast ground coffee. So easy to clean just needs rinsing out with water.

I have had many coffee machines over the years and this is the best coffee pot by far! It makes the best coffee.

Had been searching for this item for a long time - always out of stock. Have used smaller version every day for years but wanted to use larger version for coffee with friends. Love the timer function and the keep warm function. You do not have to stand by the stove and watch the pot. Excellent Bialetti quality as expected. Has continental plug so use adapter.

I used to use one of the stove top versions when house sitting years (decades!) ago and loved the coffee but was always paranoid about burning it as I remember it needed taking off the hob immediately...or else. As I needed a new coffee maker, I was drawn to this because of the memory of the coffee made by the stove top version but knowing I wouldn't have to hover nearby or risk disaster. It did seem like quite a lot of money for something producing quite a small amount of coffee, but I have not been disappointed with the results. The 'tune' (turned as low as possible) does at least remind me that it's ready if I happen to be in another room, and I'm quite relaxed about the fact that the coffee is not going to keep piping hot for the whole 30 minutes after brewing. It is still early days but at this point I would say it suits me perfectly.

Had it for almost one year, used several times a week as it was in my office kitchen. Had to return due to malfunctioning. I loved the music signal and function to keep the coffee hot, entertained myself and others with pre-programmed coffee-breaks. I am Ok that it was made out of Aluminum and somewhere in PRC (as I assumed Bialetti engineers would be in QA).First was very excited to receive it. Had the standard Bialetti for years and love it. So this promised to be everything more convenient from same ingenious Italian engineers, but turned out to be a failure.Immediately noticed sadistically sharp corners of the plastic base. I wanted to cut them or brush with sandpaper (but didn't, first for one reason and later for another). After several days of use the built in watch started gaining time like and hour a day and setting timer for "morning coffee" started to be hit or miss action. After several months the base started emitting high-pitched noise and at this point I never kept it plugged for longer than was necessary to make the coffee.And after about six months the coffee maker's wired base started to sound error messages from time to time and refuse to make coffee because, as I experimentally figured out moving the top around the axe on the base, the surface contact of the electrical contacts was not adequate. By this point I did try cleaning and descaling and even showed to a fellow technical engineer. So moving it around the base helped for another couple of months until my wife said she doesn't want a malfunctioning electric device around me and ... she was right; I wanted this coffee maker to work so much that I missed the point it was actually more than half broken already -- I could not use the timer and worried to leave it plugged, to open and close I had to use a thick napkin or paper towel around the sharp plastic base, and the base was obviously and progressively malfunctioning.Thanks to the Amazon CS they accepted return in no time. And I purchased a more solid-built German steel-and-glass unit which is its slow test run since November, so far very practical (and looks better, sadly plays no music when the coffee is ready but I can see it through the glass-top)) ).
