Q: I am a bit concerned on safety. Most canners seem to have a lock but this does not? Am I missing something ?

This canner is not a pressure canner used for canning low acid foods such as meats and vegetables. This is a steam canner which is a method of canning high acid foods such as pickles and jams. As such, no locking mechanism is needed.

Q: Can this be used on a flat (glass) hob?

Yes, I use it on my glass job, no problems

Q: Does this work on induction?

I don’t think so. Isn’t it aluminium

Q: How much (roughly) is the import tax levied on this product for importing to the uk? please, if you've bought it, and you're in the uk, do tell me.

I'm in the UK and purchased my canner a year ago. I don't recall exact amounts but I think the import Vat was close to £30
