Full metal alloy of exceptional Japanese quality.
This is truly worth buying for. Exceptional (Japanese made) quality and sturdiness would last surely for very long. Price a bit on the expensive side but it reflects its quality.Full metal alloy construction (apart the reflectors of course which do not cover though the full width of the cage but probably not needed) and not metal coloured as mentioned in the description.Unfolds very easily with the press of a button and then the metal cage just drops, so it's just one action needed compared to standard designs (which need two actions: 1. press/keep pressed the cage and 2. fold). Also, it is more hygienic in this sense (as could be) according to my opinion, as you only need to touch, using one finger, the button (and not the whole pedal) which does not touch directly the shoe's outsole.Although it seems to protrude when folded due to its design, the actual width remaining when folded was the same with the previous Suntour folding pedals I used.Great grip again due to its design, does not slip at all, enabling to apply full pressure on it.No drawbacks at all - well done MKS!

We like these
I bought two pairs of these for the bikes that my wife and I take on holiday with us. We carry them in the back of the car, and I got fed up with pedals catching in spokes. These solve that problem nicely. The pedals fold with a simple but firm push on a button, which means the bikes can lie flat in the boot, and there's no bits sticking our to catch on the other bike.In use, the platform is smaller than the OEM pedals the bikes came with, but not uncomfortably so. Metal ridges mean that grip for your shoes is good, and even when out of the saddle they feel very sturdy. As mentioned above, the push required to fold them is firm, so you never feel like they are going to fold whilst you are riding. For me, the sturdiness of the metal seems to be worth the potential weight penalty and extra cost over the many plastic sets that are available. I've ridden 500 miles on these in the last couple of months and they've given me no rouble whatsoever. Recommended.

Gives the impression of being a quality product that will stand the test of time
Update on price.......I have noticed prices changing on Amazon following good reviews. My review below is based on the price point of £28.25Delivery was a quite slow, but first impressions after a couple of weeks of moderate use (about 50 miles so far) are all positive.Build quality, folding action and smooth running bearings all give the impression of being a quality product that will stand the test of time. This is my third set of folding pedals (bearing failure and structural failure accounted for the first 2 sets) and they feel a cut above the previous products.Another reviewer has observed that the folding mechanism stopped working after dirt got into it; so far I have not seen any degradation of the folding mechanism, but only time will tell. If this problem develops I will update my review so you can see how long it was before the problem developed.UPDATE: After a heavy usage on holiday (including being dragged about for 2 weeks on the back of a campervan getting covered in crud) the pedals are working well. There is now a SLIGHT grainy feel to the mechanism, but this is more evidence of the tight manufacturing tolerances rather than a problem.

Great strong folding pedal with full size platform
Purchased these pedals for my Brompton, particularly for the left hand side. After months of sciatic pain in my left leg, I realised that the Brompton folding pedal does not provide a full size pedal platform and my leg was not able to align fully. Not sure if this was the cause of the problem, I thought it would be worth the try. Must say having purchased the MKS pedals, haven’t looked back.Strong and sturdy with a full platform, the pain is so much reduced, they have made a huge difference.Only slight downside is that they protrude a little more when folded, so have to be a bit careful when carrying.Overall though highly recommended 👍

Machined to near perfection
Just amazingly well constructed pedals with a excellent folding mechanism that just feels well machined and oiled to precision, activated by a discreet fingertip button control. No more flexing, no more creaking, no more unexpected folding, no more breaking, no more having to snap the folding part back onto the spring mechanism when it breaks free and no more wooley, wobbly feeling from the cranks when pedaling under load or high cadence.Just a solid and reliable pair of quality pedals!

Excellent solution to storing bikes together.
I store three bikes together in a 4ft wide shed and moving them to and fro can be a pain when the pedals catch in the adjacent bikes wheels. These pedals fold up quickly and easily on the cranks and give that much more clearance. They are very well engineered in solid aluminium. The grip is for the foot is excellent and the bearings are free running with no discernable play. I went out for a 20 mile ride today and had every confidence when standing on the pedals. they were not cheap at £35 but given their quality I expect them to last well justifying the cost. I haved only given 3 stars for Sheerness as I haven't got a clue what that is.

Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Let alone folding pedals, these are the best pedals I've ever had.The folding mechanism is top quality, and I can put all the weight from my corpulent body on them and they can take it.The previous set of plasticky folding pedals lasted about a month or so. These ones will probably outlast me, the zombie apocalypse and nuclear war. I guess they'll be destroyed when the Sun gobbles up planet Earth in about 4 billion years time. Enough of the hyperbole, they are really well made, but then at £35 they need to be awesome !

Amazing pedals
These Pedals are beautiful. They are steel so don't fall apart as I read of so many plastic ones. They have excellent grip and fold well with a good push button mechanism. I have already done over 200 miles with them and they are as good as the day I put them on! If you want a folding pedal I would recommend them; it doesn't have to be a folding bike!
