Good jar, tap not fit for purpose.
Giant size Kilner jar looks great and is just as I had hoped. The tap however was plastic. It leaked slightlyband lasted about 3 weeks before snapping. I was going to complain to suppliers but realised I would have to return whole item. Just bought a metal tap on line for ease. Recommend company starts providing metal taps instead of plastic.

Self dispensing water jar!
The jar itself is great but the tap drips all the time and leaves a puddle in the fridge. It needs a much better tap.Its not supposed to be self dispensing.

Insubstantial lid clamping arrangement lets it down
I'd bought this for making a large batch of fruit liqueur; frankly, I think I'll be reverting to using 3 x 2 litre 'Kilner' jars. At this point - and for the avoidance of doubt or misunderstanding - this is *not* a 'Kilner' product. Having made that point clear, my comments are as follows:The actual glassware and 'flip-lever' tap both seem robust enough for purpose - however, the top lid lock/clamp arrangement is insubstantial and unreliable. This is because the gauge of stainless steel wire from which it is constructed is undersized for the diameter of the glass lid/rubber sealing ring, also the wire-forming is of poor quality (it appears to have been bent by hand in a "holding device" * rather than an automated machine). The rubber sealing ring is thinner than those found on 'Kilner' jars - however its diameter is different so an 'upgrade' is not possible. All of these factors combine in a way such that there is too much 'give' in the mechanism when the lid is closed - hence the jar is neither leakproof nor airtight. At this time, I can't recommend this product in its current form.* [ Yes, I do indeed watch "How It's Made" ;-) ]

Great size for the family.
Brilliant nearly 8 litres of liquid. Ideal for making fruit infused water for the whole family or for mixing some pretty decent cocktails for a party.Easy to fill, simple to use. Easy enough to clean and looks impressive on the kitchen side.

Has helped me drink more water with less trips to the tap
I live in the loft of a house so I brought this to fill up and drink from as I drink a lot of water to avoid pacing up and down the stairs to get a drink. It did leek when I first brought but, it's no longer leaking. The only problem is when it gets to the bottom the water is below the tap line.
