Intense, velvety hazelnut taste. Artisan quality
Let me preface this review by saying that I'm very fussy when it comes to hazelnut spreads, having tried many brands from different outlets. Many hazelnut spreads taste too sweet, too artificial or too bland.Due to the lockdown, I wasn't able to visit my favourite deli stores so I took my search online. Decided to take a chance with Caffarel's 40% hazelnut spread - it's priced above supermarket brands, but it contains a higher percentage of hazelnuts.Delivery was prompt, and my 210g glass jar arrived in a bubble wrap. Firstly, my review of the packaging; it is well wrapped and sturdy. I really enjoyed how the jar looks. What you see is what you will receive from the photo on Amazon. The taste of this hazelnut spread, it where it really shines. Not too sweet, the first thing that you will taste is how intense the hazelnuts are. That is a wonderful thing in my opinion, because who buys hazelnut chocolate spread if they did not enjoy the taste of hazelnuts. The chocolate is not centre stage of this product, but rather a beautiful accomplice; it is blended to perfection. The product claims to have 40% hazelnuts and I believe this because the rich, hazelnut is always present. Compare this with a product that does not have this much hazelnuts, and it is just bland chocolate spread that is sickly sweet. The spread is smooth, but not devoid of texture, if that makes sense. There's not gritty bits of nuts in the spread. Not too watery like some. It is a lovely consistency that is neither too thin nor thick. It's clear that the people who made this spread put a lot of thought and experience into it.This alone, is worth the price I paid. Value for money is subjective of course, but I would far prefer 1 jar of this Caffarel brand to 10 jars of subpar hazelnut spreads.Versatile to use as a spread for pancakes, cakes, bread, croissants, crackers (yes, try it!), also if you enjoy just eating it from the jar.10/10 taste, absolutely super**10/10 delivery and packaging8/10 presentation (I'm nit-picking here, the label could look more luxurious)10/10 quality -its there in every spoonful10/10 value for money (in my opinion)**if you love the taste of hazelnuts and gianjuja

Best Hazelnut Chocolate Spread (Like Nutella used to be)
This is the unmistakable taste of hazelnut chocolate paste that I remember eating as a kid. Of course, back then Nutella used to be the product of choice but they've changed recipe and added less hazelnuts and more sugar destroying its legacy. / rantGianduia 1865 is the best hazelnut spread that I've had in the last 10 years. Discovered by accident when I traveled to Italy. Yes, it costs more than double a Nutella jar but it's also twice as delicious! Definitely worth it and will buy again when I finish this jar (which is soon ;-) )

Very tasty
Full of hazelnut flavour, easy to spread, much nicer than nutela. Just a little too sweet for my taste hence the 4 stars.

So moreish!
So much better than Nutella! After trying Caffarel spread I understood how poor of a quality Nutella was, it tastes nothing but sugar compared to Caffarel.Of course, this spread is pricy but luxurious. Very very luxurious in taste as well!

Delicious and yes, it's better than Nutella!
Moorish and dangerously so! This is my second pot in about 6 weeks. It is pricey, but the hazelnuts are supposed to be the best in the world - The original original Nutella from Italy.

Absolutely delicious
I was curious to see what authentic gianduja tastes like since I don't really like Nutella. I was surprised at how rich and nutty the flavour was, it wasn't too sweet as well. The only issue I have is that the portion is too small 😂

Expensive nutella
It tastes the same as Nutella, only four times the price; although it has 40% more hazelnuts, the product has the same calories as Nutella and honestly tastes the same, so if you want to spend more for the extra hazelnuts, go for it.
