Definitely helped my poorly fish .
The media could not be loaded. Bought this in hopes it would help my young Koi that just hasn’t been well since it was gifted to me 3 months ago . I had no idea what was wrong & we have no aquatic vet close by so after googling symptoms in great detail & doing some research it kept coming back as bacterial infection. I’ve had my other fish 20+ years & never had to use any chemicals in my pond or treat any of my fish ..Decided to give melafix a go & im really glad I did . I isolated him in a tank & im currently on day 6 of the treatment . He’d been bottom sitting in my pond for weeks , he’d never come up for food at feeding time & he spent 24 hours a day hiding behind my pond plants . As you can see in the video I took yesterday he’s now swimming around perfectly normal & happy , Ive been using koi flakes to feed him whilst he’s in the tank (usually use MediKoi) & it’s the first time I’ve seen him eat since he fell ill . The melafix also cleared up a red bloodshot patch he’d got underneath his body within the first dose of treatment . He’s not stopped swimming around & playing with the bubbles from the air stones 😂 I’ll be gutted when I have to put him back in the pond . I’d definitely recommend this stuff . I thought I was gonna lose my fish he was so lethargic & unwell but it took just 3 days of this stuff & I saw positive signs .Just to add , it did make the water go incredibly cloudy and my koi did start rubbing a bit against the airstones which can be a side effect to using melafix . I did a 25% water change and added 2 tablespoons spoons of pond salt , this helped with any irritation / stress .

Great product.
Great product for treating my pond to keep the fish healthy, only wish it wouldn’t foam up so much, but be patient and it will go.One tip ! keep the bottle/product in a black bag or out of day light to stop it going cloudy .

Works well
What can I say about API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy 473 ml Bottle.Haven't had any issue using this product so far will use when adding new, doing a water change or any signs of thin rot this product only really AIDS the healing of thin rot and prevention so if your fish is heavily ill with thin rot I would use a medicine dedicated to that. Haven't had any issues with water quality changing even with fry personally I wouldn't get a smaller bottle as you do go through this quite quickly maybe one bottle would last six months.Have had the issue twice now with this product though where the seal on top is more or less just placed there doesn't feel like it's really secured.

Perfect! People just don't know how to use it
Been using this for the last 7 years atleast and I've never had an issue. In fact it's a fish saviour in a bottle.Just want to give some tips for those saying it's killed all of your fish. 1 of 3 things has happened. Unfortunately fish can get to a stage of no return if left for too long without treatment. There is something else going on with your fish or water quality or you've over dosed the tank.Less is more! Now my fish stock is as follows 1x black moor goldfish, 4 gold white cloud mountain minnows and 1x nerite snail. Houses in a 54 litre tank (UK)Dosage on the bottle says 5mls per 38 litres or something like that. Now only one fish was affected (Norman my black moor) and had very little damage to his tail fin. There is no need to give the recommended dose. I used 4mls measured in a syringe for 5 days and he's back to proudly showing off his fins again. That's well below the recommended dose. Fish need light don't go turning off the lights for 5 days during treatment. Just reduce or dim if you can the lighting I have my lights on for 6 hours a day normally so I reduced to 3. Now for those severe cases of fin rot which is effecting the body (I know there will be people saying omg you can't do that) I momentarily and very quickly net the affected fish bring it to the waters surface and with a syringe use half a ml directly to the effected area. I once had a Colombian red tail tetra with severe fin rot lost his entire dorsal fin was down to his body did that and it grew back quite quickly. Fish are quite amazing! Hope this helped

It works
Had a fish with damaged / missing scales and another with fuzz on the dorsal fin. Used this for five days..it smells weird but natural and both fish are now looking healthy a month later and are still alive. A win if you want to treat your fish naturally.
