I didn't believe the hype, but these things really work!Had been troubled with regular bouts of gout - normally around the toes which left me unable to walk for several days at a time. Had been on long-term Allopurinol, but still had to frequently resort to the crutches the NHS gave me so I could remain mobile during instances of gout.Was recommended this by a friend, but didn't really bother taking the bottle he gave me, until one day, I felt like I'd stubbed my toe whilst walking, and within 2 hours I'd gone from a sore toe to being unable to walk on the foot and in extreme pain. The wife had to drive to pick me up with my crutches.I thought "what the hell", took one CherryActive straight away, took another at bed time, and another when I woke up (with the pain being virtually gone - an order of magnitude faster than the normally prescribed Colchicine medicine takes to effect things). At lunch time that day I did a 3 mile walk with no pain at all.That was August 2013, and taking one of these a day, I've not had a case of gout since - whereas I could have expected a severe episode at least once a month on the Allopurinol treatment. If you suffer from gout, you owe it to yourself to atleast try these and see if they work for you.

I have been using cherry active for years. Was getting expensive though, so changed to capsules. They work well and this Supplier has a really fair price & excellent delivery. Highly recommend.

Please read this review to the end as I updated it in November 14. Got these for my husband who suffers with gout. The medication given by his GP didn't seem to be helping very much and we had concerns about the side effects. Read about CherryActive capsules so looked up the reviews. Mostly very positive so thought they would be worth a try. Hubby has been taking these now for nearly one month. He stopped taking the prescribed medication at the same time as starting the CherryActive capsules. He only takes one capsule a day. Most days he has a cherry yoghurt but no other changes to his diet !!! Slowly the gout pain has decreased and, at the moment, he is pain free !!! It is still early days but so far couldn't be happier. 26/11/14 and I thought I would update this review. Shortly after I wrote the first review he had one day where the gout pain returned. Increased the capsules to 2 a day for a few days. Pain went and has been completely pain free ever since. He continues to take one capsule each day and has cherry yoghurt drink. We both couldn't be happier with the results.

I have suffered from gout on and off for several years, but 6 months ago it became worse.I gave up beer and drank cider instead and this improved matters. But the best ciders tend to be more expensive than beer, and living in Norwich, I am lucky to be able to enjoy a great variety of real ales.However, the gout returned and I spoke to my GP who sent me for a blood test. This revealed an increased level of uric acid.I was prescribed Allupurinol and took a further blood test 4 weeks later and my uric acid level was lower.This drug does not initially reduce pain levels, but does eventually reduce the inflammation around the joints, and the pain is more under control without having to take other drugs.I read about the benefits of cherries as a natural way of relieving gout, so I took 2 capsules for 4 weeks, and now take 1 capsule a day and I only get the odd twinge. I plan to discontinue the Allupurinol and continue with the cherry capsules in the hope that the natural treatment works. Fingers crossed ( ouch ! ).

I am 65, I have had a painful hip for about 2 years, I have had physio and I already take Turmeric. The painful hip is mostly noticeable when I am resting watching TV and at night in bed. I had resorted to using Voltarol at night and sleeping with a pillow between my legs. However, after taking 2 capsules (one morning, one evening) I no longer need the Voltarol or the pillow! Also I do a lot of walking over the moor and after particularly strenuous walks I usually ache all over the next day, but now I hardly feel anything. Unsure as yet as to the benefits.Looking at the info published there is plenty of pseudo scientific reporting as to the statistical benefits, but fail to point out dose required to achieve the desired impact.Have had a flair up whilst taking these, but have been taking 1 tab a day, rather than 2 . No clear evidence on the bottle as to dose that may be required for anti- inflammatory benefits.should I have been taking 2 tabs, would I have had a flair up?Biggest draw back is the size and taste of the tablets.Horsepills!Taste like mouldy cardboard too. Make sure you have a cool cup of tea to swallow them with, you need a big gulp to get them down.Tried adding powder to cherry juice drink, but does not dissolve, just makes a lumpiness in bottom of glass.Are there any side effects? Interractions with other meds?Not stated on info on web. An important ommission. If you are going to put out biochemical supportive info that puports to have benefits, then this may also have other drug interraction.COX-1 and COX -2 inhibition is not without impact. Needs to be added to info.
