A perfect pre & post shave solution, I cannot recommend highly enough.
I have quite sensitive skin, and find that I often get irritated after shaving. Proraso creams have been a fantastic solution for me, and this is my pick of the bunch. You can use it as both a pre- and after-shave cream, and it works perfectly for both. The lingering scent is pleasant, and certainly not overpowering at all. The only person who detects it is my girlfriend, meaning you really have to be up close and personal. The cream also goes a long way, with a less than pea-sized blob being enough to do face and neck. That means that it's 'oily' enough to spread, but not so much that it doesn't absorb and leave a residue. That also makes this great value, and a pot lasts a long time (plus the fact that this does for pre- and post-shaving means you just need this and a shaving soap/cream/foam). I will admit that a) I am not the most frequent shaver (2/3 times a week) and that b) I travel at least a week in a month and don't take it as it's a glass pot, but one pot is enough to last me a year. I really like that I can buy one pot of this, and one medium bar of shaving soap, and that's me done for the year. I suppose I have just identified a potential issue for some in that the glass pot is not the most travel friendly, but I think that those of us that travel very frequently generally tend to accept having a set of smaller, less breakable versions of most of our everyday bathroom products, so not an issue at all for me.All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this or indeed any of the other Proraso pre/post shave creams.

Very good
This product works very well. Since I've been using this along with the same brand foam I've not experienced any facial cuts at all. Smells really good as well

Quite a Thick Cream
It was perhaps a little too thick as it had a tendency to clog my razor and was impossible to rinse out without dismantling the blade from the handle. It did work well to prevent razor burn though, so I gave three stars, if it was easier to rinse from the blade I'd have given it five.

Softens the bristles and helps the razor glide easily over the skin
Reduces the risk of shaving nicks and skin irritation. Softens the bristles and helps the razor glide easily over the skin. Ideal to use as a post shave balm and moisturiser. Smells great.

Brilliant product
I have really soft blemish free sensitive skin. I am using Taylors of Old Bond Street creams in tubs, an assortment of different fragrances. However, before using this with new but mild blades suchs as nacet, personna, derby etc, I was getting a couple of nicks & cuts in the same places, namely my chin & under my nose. This pre shave cream seems to have sorted it perfectly. I washed my face in hot water first, then applied the pre shave cream on top. Then I added the shaving cream with a shaving brush & lathered thoughly until it was creamy smooth. The shave with the grain in two passes was so much more comfortable & better with this cream. Buy it to avoid cuts/ nicks/ razor burn & discomfort. EXCELLENT!!!

A very good pre-shave cream
Like the post shave balm, I found this Proraso product very good, I definitely find the shave smoother after applying this product before the actual shaving cream. The scent is not overwhelming but noticeable, which I personally like. A decent price paid on Amazon, and a jar should last quite a long time, although it should be noted I shave approximately twice a week, so more frequent shavers would have to compare its longevity to their usual products.

Great product range and great value for money!
I recently discovered the proraso product range and have been very impressed by the quality and price. The sandlewood pre shave is my favorite. Some people seem confused about its use. My advice is use it as a pre shave not a shaving soap. Here's what I do: wash my face and pat dry (you might prefer the barbershop hot wet flannel approach), apply the pre shave with fingertips, wait five minutes. Then use a shaving soap (Proraso make several) preferably with a decent badger hair shaving brush to produce the lather (Edwin Jagger make high quality ones and they're reasonably priced). Then shave as normal, I'm a cut-throat kinda chap myself, rinse and re apply the pre shave only if you wish, I don't bother with that because I don’t really think the product is intended for it, seems more like some sales afterthought and there are better products for post shave- but no better pre shave than this. The smell is also really nice although doesn’t linger after shaving so won’t affect your intended choice of cologne. I’m so impressed with this stuff that the thought of running out makes me lose sleep. Buy it and enjoy.
