This is a good introduction to the Destiny game system, as these two decks, while small, are well constructed and give the players a good sense how the game plays. Thematically, Rey versus Kylo (with Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma assisting, respectively) taps into the milieu of the current movies, and the cards in each deck work well together. Be warned: if you are a Star Wars fan or tend to get addictive to collectible card games, this could be the portal to an expensive hobby. However, this set works just fine on its own. I probably played fifty games before picking up additional booster packs, and was not yet bored with these two decks.The game system is up to Fantasy Flight's high design standards. The basics are simple - the players take turns executing an action, such as playing a card, activating a card for their abilities or dice, or resolving dice. The subtleties and strategy comes in in deciding when to take a certain action. Games are often interesting and tense. The game is won by eliminating both of the opponent's characters or when a player's deck is depleted when they need to draw a card.What sets Destiny apart from most games are dice. Many of the key cards have dice associated with them; when the card is activating the associated dice are rolled. Depending on the symbols displaying on the dice face, they can be used to attack the opponent's characters, gather resources to pay to play cards, change the faces of other dice, or use a card's special ability. Some card game purists may resent the added randomness the dice bring to the game, but I think it works just.If you like Star Wars or want to see if Destiny is for you, this is an excellent place to start, especially if you can get it at a bargain price.

I really like the gameplay of Star Wars: Destiny. A very well designed game with a good balance of strategy, deck-building, and luck. It’s a strategic game that doesn’t take forever to play. I also love the dice aspect of the game. It adds a fun dimension to the game that not many CCGs have. This starter set will set you up well to start building decks and adding more cards from booster packs. Comes with solid characters and the ability to start playing right out of the box. My only critique is that the packaging isn’t useful for long-term storage. You’ll have to by deck boxes and storage containers for dice.

Star Wars Destiny is a quick paced, and fun game. It has elements to draw in both casual gamers to those who seek more depth in their game time. On the surface it stays fairly lift with the two starter sets and a back and fourth quick oace of play that will keep your attention. If the player chooses to take the experience further, they can widen the scope and get in to the deeper seeded card combonations, the rush of chasing the randomly packed boosters, and the satisfaction of collecting. This game is unlike many games in Fantasy Flight's gaming stable in that it returns to that random pack "collectable" distribution formula that works so well for other companies. FF were able to produce this product with cards that sport their signature amazing art style, and dice that feel lije they are fully part of the playing environment or as items with that intrinsic collector value by themselves. This all did not come without a drawback or two.....and my biggest problem with the game is zimply availablility. I was only able to get the two starter decks several months after release. The demand for the game overshot the supply, causing either lack of availability or the secondary market to sky rocket. This is the tight spot, because I feel the value of the game comes from it staying close to MSRP for the various components. All in all this is a fun gane with lots of playability......if you can find it.

Great game for any Star Wars gamer... I hate that its not being made anymore. it seems to have lost alot of traction but I dont know why... its entertaining.. its quick to learn, easy to follow and anyone can pick it up and run with it. Some cards I need to look up to see what the heck it really means, but thats with almost any other game!

Fantastic card game and highly addictive and collectible. Definitely recommend getting this to get yourself into the game. Since it is two player you can use this kit to get others interested in the game as well. If they are hooked like you are they can get just a single player starter kit to play against you. The booster packs are great to round out your collection and customize your team. Highly recommended game.

The game takes some time to learn. It's fun. These starter packs offer cards you don't get from boosters so if you want to collect the whole set, you need to buy these starter sets. Nice art work, be ready to spend a lot if you want to collect and not just play this game. Hard to come across, take advantage of holding out until the next weave to get at retail price.

This is an awesome product, but unfortunately there was a factory defect with my set. The deck was sealed when opening box, but discovered after sleeving them that card #3 was missing. Not the sellers fault, but finding out a card is missing after you've gone through trouble of double sleeving them is a bummer.

I loved the value and the 2 player experience. You can't beat it for the price. If you are just starting out I would buy 2 so you get the elite version of each character and 2 of each weapon and upgrade. Great base to build on and unmatched value.
