Glimmer Goddess Organic Self Tanner - DHA-Free Tanning Lotion, 8 oz

I'm olive toned and think I look a little healthier with a bit of color, but I'm also skin care conscience about tanning/laying out, and found out years ago I'm allergic to DHA, so bronzer isn't even an option. Laying out is sortof a pain, since I cover face/neck where I use retinols, get tan lines, and get sweaty/tired.Years ago I found one truly organic bronzer product that actually worked without irritating my skin; however, it's pretty greasy, has a strong odor and glimmer to it, so couldn't be worn to bed, under light clothes, under makeup, etc. It's expensive and such a labor to use I found myself rarely even wanting to do it.I came across this product (which is probably about the cost of one spray tan) and decided to try it. And YES, it definitely works! I went pretty light on the first application but saw streaks on my feet days later where I didn't blend very well (and like the bottle says, nope, this doesn't just wash off). So the good news was, it was working lol, the downside, I had streaky feet for a few days and some blotches here and there.SMELL - it smells like a glazed donut. If you're really conscience about any possible smell, I'd recommend applying this 3-5 days before an event so you get your desired color and are minimizing the scent. If you're using this often, I would say on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being super obvious and stinky, this is a 2 or 3. If you are really sensitive to smells, it may be more for you. After my lotion and perfume, I find it hardly noticeable.APPLICATION - after the Streaky Feet incident, I used a MAC 810 brush to apply a line of product to each general area, and use circling motions to cover and blend. It's impossible to tell when you first apply this if it's even, so doing so with the short soft-haired brush helped eliminate much room for error or embarrassing blotches or streaks.I don't leave product reviews very often, but since this is such a niche market/product, thought it would be helpful to other people who can't/won't use DHA but still want to get a "healthy glow". I also think this is a small business, so hopefully this honest feedback helps as well.No product is 100% perfect in every way for everyone, but I for one have absolutely no skin irritation, can use this on my face and body with no reaction, thought the price is reasonable, and find the color to develop into a nice tanned brown. Try it out and get your glow on!

My legs are notoriously hard to tan unless I am at the beach. After years of using Jergens self tanner I developed an allergic reaction so back to white legs.I so wanted this to work but it doesn't. If I used lotion first to avoid blotching it didn't tan at all, if I just used the product I ended up with blotching and it seemed to darken any spots on my legs but not much else. The ONLY positive is it did not make my legs itch.Very disappointed and will not buy again.

So nice to find a product that does not irritate my skin, love this product and that it is DHA free as I am obviously allergic to DHA after putting up with itchy bumpy welts for years every time I tried to self tan, this gives a very natural looking finish, I am very fair. I find it works quickly (overnight) to add a subtle glow of colour to my skin if use once or twice a week, obviously it would be much darker if you wanted to use more often. Not sticky, it’s just like using a nice moisturiser. Smell is much better than other tanners too.

I bought this because I was searching for a sunless tanner that did not have the trademark smell after developing. I thought it was the DHA in other products that caused this smell. Going on, Glimmer Goddess DHA free tanner smells pretty good, like a glazed donut. After it develops, there is a brown sugar and pee smell that I was trying to avoid, but not as strong as other products I’ve tried. The lotion itself feels amazing, dries very quickly, and keeps my skin very soft. The color is golden yellow, not brown, but I ordered dark. I will probably reorder because there are more positives than negatives. I’m going to get some of their regular lotion too, because I really like the way the tanner feels and I’ve had no adverse reaction to it.

I don’t usually do reviews but that’s generally what I look at when I’m purchasing something. This product did what it claimed as for the color and the ease of applying it but the smell was atrocious, like vomit. I don’t know if mine was rancid or what but I was only able to use it 2x, if I could smell it surely other people would too !

I do NOT Get a Rash/Itch from this Self Tanner. I just started using Self Tanner this year and LOVED IT, BUT I Think I am Allergic to DHA because after Several Months I started to itch and get little bumps on my legs that itch- it will go away after 2-3 days with no additional self tanner. This DHA FREE Self Tanner makes my skin feel very soft, smell is nice ( it will smell like tanner after left on, but not overpowering smell). I do NOT receive the DARK Tan That I did with another Brand, BUT I am not Itching and uncomfortable and I atleast take the glare off- I tan quickly and I get a dark tan color from sun/tanning bed, but I am also pale (winter months) without a tan. This is a good alternative- Would love if Glimmer Goddess Dark Self Tanner would give a darker color tan but an outstanding product for those allergic to DHA and NOT looking to be pale. I do recommend!

This is really some great stuff! The smell doesn't bother me, it's fast acting, it's great color, and most importantly I'm not allergic to it! I have tried everything everything and reacted terribly until this. Very pleased

So the scent is nice. The lotion is smooth and most importantly it did not make hives on my body. I was looking for a product without DHA. I am a long-time user of self-tanners and all of a sudden, I was getting hives from them. I tried this product now for about 3 weeks. No Hives! However the tan is not real apparent. I got the dark one but it really doesn't compare with the brand name tanners "color" I used to get. So its good on the skin but color wise, I'm not impressed. Especially for the cost.
