The Spirulina is grown in Southern India.

Q: Someone mentioned this was grown or comes from India. Does anyone have any other info on this and how can we be sure of the quality control in India?

W.C. says on January 10, 2018 no companies "independently test" for BMAA. I completely agree with the "independent test" for BMAA assertion. I have found a couple other Spirulina companies which state they "independently test" for BMAA. I am not sure of the exact company they use to independently test their product however.

Q: What are the chances of it being contaminated with microcystins?

I've researched and there are no Spirulina brands so far that can produce independent lab test results for cyanobacteria/BMAA testing. All we hear are claims that their products are cyanobacteria/BMAA free, such as being grown in controlled ponds or drying process does not allow BMAA and other explanations without any test results to back it up.
