I'm sure Hamlet would have enjoyed perusing As You Like It, a play set substantially in the forest and not a mother in sight. What you can expect are witty young misses and thoughtful clowns, lovestruck young heroes and unpatronised rustics, in a story full of sinister plots undone and romantic mis-takings, cross-dressing and arborial graffiti.Anywa, it's charming and the comedy is not strained. A pleasure to read, especially in such a helpful edition.
