Tricky at first
Almost sent back but remembered to use as an eye loupe close to eye and not magnifiying glasd and it was all good.

Great quality loupe
I love the case, it's not cheap plastic, and it works well for my purpose (reading/ photographing tiny jewelry marks). Very happy with this purchase!

Optics are beautiful; LED power problematic.
I bought all three powers of these loupes; and the optics are dazzling. And, the LED lighting is well-designed and well-placed with the exception of the lone "UV" LED, which is placed outside of any useful area. Also, the "UV" LEDs in the array are not really UV (i.e., not capable of causing fluorescence of a fluorescent material) and are consquently merely a gimmick. The biggest problem, however, is the design of the LED power supply. The power supply uses 3 x 395 watch battery button cells to provide an open circuit voltage of 4.6 volts. Those watch batteries are designed to provide several hundred MICROAMPS to power a wrist watch. However, the LED array in these loupes pull about 30 MILLIAMPS of current, or about 100 times the current that the batteries were designed to provide. In fact, they pull about ten times the current that the batteries are even ABLE to provide. The result is that the LEDs begin to dim after just a few minutes as the battery voltage drops due to the high current drain. If powered off, good-quality batteries may recover somewhat such that the LEDs are brighter when next powered on than when powered off. However, the total useful run time in any case, with the best batteries, is ~ 10-15 minutes. Althoug the batteries are cheap, it is a pain to constantly have to unscrew the battery holder top, fiddle with the tiny-guage wire connector and then screw the fine-threaded top back on. I found a partial solution by using the thickest battery type that is also 9.5 mm in diameter. The specified battery is a 395/SR927SW. For those sufficiently adventuresome to file down the pin underneath the battery holder top, you can use 3 x battery type 394 (SR936SW) or better yet type 380 (SR936W). Both the 394 and the 380 will provide 50% more LED run time than with the 395. Why the manufacturer of this product did not do so is beyond me. Note that the 380 is best because its chemistry is optimized for higher current drains than is the 394. However the 380 is harder to come by. Note that this mod simply better utilizes the space within the battery compartment by using slightly thicker and higher capacity button batteries of the same diameter. The pin on the underside of the screw-on battery compartment top must be filed down in order to make room vertically for the thicker batteries. However, the mod is merely a band-aid to obtain slightly higher LED-on time. The ultimate solution for this problem will be for the manufacturer to redesign the product to incorporate a small rechargeable lithium-ion battery and a USB-C port to accept a charge. This product desperately begs for such a redesign.

I have to ram it into my eye socket to see anything.
Maybe my expectations were vastly different from what I received. Once I tried using it, I realized I literally had to ram it into my eye socket to see what I was looking at. Perhaps that's how they're designed to work? I really don't know, but it's rather uncomfortable and it zooms in VERY close to the object I'm looking at. Yes yes - I know - 30X! But still, it's so close I have no idea where I am in the field of view. Maybe I just need practice? We'll see :) *pun intended*

Cheap snap on the case broke on first opening
The loupe seems fine but the case snap broke literally on the first opening. Can’t contact seller directly. They would probably fix it by sending a new little case.
