beware the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad instructions
To preface, the kit itself is excellent. To say it's more than the sum of it's parts is an understatement, and especially for the price, it's shocking how much detail is packed into this thing. But the instructions devolve into "place this bit in this general area and hope for the best". The illustrations are also completely disproportionate to the actual modelAnd of course, for the rigging, the hardest part of the kit, the instructions are "step 1: do the all of the rigging.".I pretty much ended up winging most of this build, because the instructions were more confusing than just looking at the pieces3.75/5 needs more protection in the box

Challenging but worth it.
It has 269 parts that have to be painted. They should be painted while still on the mold form. You will need these items to help build this kit.1,Rotary tool to cut the parts from the mold. 2, Small knife. 3, Small file. 4, Small hand drills to drill the small holes bigger. 5, Tweezers. 6, cloths pins. In some cases a hot glue gun for fast gluing.I worked on it for a month and it is only half finished. It is rewarding to work on it.

Poor quality
Poor quality, not like the older kits. Pieces don’t fit together properly and plastic is very flimsy.

Challenging but FUN
Kit is OK, having to reshape warped parts, Sails are vac u-formed pieces of stark white-very thin plastic, probably going with thin linen for sails unless these can be washed and textured. I STRONGLY advise test fitting everything before assembly or painting, and its easier to assemble the hull and decks one deck at a time. I know this is a level 5 kit, but sometimes people don't look at the levels as skill advisors.Still working on this kit, and it will work out fine because I do love a challenge.I'm using Testors enamels since I don't live close to a decent hobby shop. I would recommend Humbroll because of color correctness, and paint-ability. (saves on mixing your own as well. With all this, I'm still having fun with it, and would purchase it again, if I wanted to do more plastic.
