No, it's not treated with flame resistant material, but it's made of 100% cotton, which is preferable. When a synthetical material burns it basically melts into the skin. When cotton burns, it quickly burns and turns into a fine white powder. The reason they say to get a snug fit is so that there aren't too many air pockets under the PJs where air could fuel a fire.
